Reviews on Puerto Rican food in San Juan, Caribbean. The festive city of San Juan is the perfect place to experience true Puerto Rican culture. Get to know its roots by exploring the vibrant neighborhood of El Viejo San Juan (Old San Juan), which consists mostly of Spanish colonial buildings. Flesh out your self-guided history lesson with a visit to El Castillo San Felipe del Morro, a 16th century citadel that’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then reward yourself with a cooling dip at Luquillo or Carolina Beach, then a tasty tour of the Bacardi rum plant.

Food is delicious but was hard to find. My gps kept putting me in front of the governorâs home. Luckily I popped my head in a random building with security and the gentleman there pointed me in the right direction. I donât think I would have found it if it wasnât for his help. So happy I found it, the stuffed avocado was unlike anything I ever had before-the crab and shrimp was perfect. Only critique, the tostones could be a little bigger. My whole trip I had tostones the size of my palm whereas these were the size of the bottom of a small soda can. The kids meals was delicious, my son was over chicken nuggets and order the steak which he devoured! That has never happen before so I know he loved it. Great service and staff, everyone was very friendly and helpful!!

My wife and I ate at Mario Pagan and it was easily our most enjoyable dining experience. The staff were very attentive, nearly flawless in every way. The food was excellent and although it was Puerto Rican, it was a bit lighter than other restaurants where the food was a bit heavier. We ordered the pork spring rolls which were small, but tasty. My wife had the halibut over beans and she couldnât be happier. I tried it as well and it was done especially well. I had the lamb confit and risotto (it had a different side listed in menu but it was served with risotto this night). The lamb was braised and impressive. The risotto had excellent bite and I felt fortunate to try it. We split a soufflé for dessert and glad we did. It was sensational. Overall, a terrific experience and it would be first on my list on a future trip.

Found this place while looking for "Taco Tuesdays" and I was absolutely NOT disappointed! House tacos for $2.22, and these are seriously unique. I was in San Juan for business for 4 weeks straight and I visited this restaurant at least 4 times. The food is consistent, the drinks are balanced, and the service is friendly. I even managed to get myself remembered by consistently ordering tamarind lemonade, which is only on the menu due for a typo.

An elevated experience for cocktails, great food, sunsets and the most amazing 360 views of San Juan.
Saturday evening we were looking for a place to have dinner as a family on the area. Found this place and decided to give it a try... what a pleasant surprise. The views are probably one of the best in the area... you get to see Old San Juan, the bay, the city, etc. The food was really good as well. Son ordered the churrasco, I ordered a mofongo with chicken and both plates were really good. And, to complement the view was the great service. Steven Garcia did a very good job taking care of us... even when sky got cloudy, they handed everyone umbrellas just in case. Definitively a place to try while in the area.

Located in the heart of the Condado neighborhood featuring International cuisine with a vibe only found in Puerto Rico.
We arrived by recommendation of a local. We were greeted and seated at the balcony area which gives you a beautiful view of the ocean. The bartender Rafael was very helpful with cocktail selection(which were amazing) which we enjoyed with a few appetizers. The Jose Taco and the dumplings was one of the favorites. Great place and service, can wait to be back at PR and swing by!!!!!!
