Came for the Michael Jackson night which was amazing but Iâve based the three star on the food not the entertainment. We paid £25 for entertainment and a two course meal, when we got the menu emailed to us to pre order there was only three mains to chose from Curry , fish pie or some vegetarian option .We all went for the chicken curry as there wasnât much to pick from .The curry was small and didnât come with anything like popadoms it was just rice and curry that tasted worse then a jar curry. It was bland and was a small portion. We was sat with three other people and they also said it was bad but we was all starving. One of our table didnât eat it.Pudding was profiteroles again small portion and taste like nasty frozen ones .I ate one and gave mine to my hubby. The food was a right let down unfortunately.I know itâs a cheap menu as itâs only £25 but it wasnât goodFirstly I would like to say thank you for your honest feedback as it is very much appreciated as it helps us improve on what our guest wants. Secondly I would like to apologised as the food wasn't enough for yourself and wasn't to your liking.Jamie

The only pub in the country named The Queen's Oak. 400 years old & built on a Roman ruin. A proper English pub serving nice homemade British food and a range of beverages including cask conditioned real ales. There are plenty of picturesque walks nearby a
This was our second visit to the Queen's Oak, both of which were excellent. The location is very good, right in the countryside, the church close to, yet only just outside Finchampstead. It is a lovely country pub and restaurant, with 'character', well preserved in the recent renovation. It is well run by Paul and his team, The choice of food was wide, and well cooked and presented, and we enjoyed our time there very much. We shall go back before very long. I recommend it to anyone looking for a place to eat in the area which is a little bit different.Good evening David,Fantastic to hear how much you enjoyed your meal with us.This really is a beautiful part of the world; we also have some leaflets, with some circular walks, available in the bar area, so that you can explore this wonderful countryside even further. We hope to see you again soon.Paul, Tom and the Queens Oak Team

At the Crown and Cushion we are proud to serve fantastic food and drink; classic pub food or specials to rival any restaurant, all freshly prepared. On Sundays, you can choose a Sunday Lunch in our pub, or a superb carvery in our magnificent Meade Hall. R
Took my friend here for lunch as in the area.We were greeted by a friendly lady and were seated in a booth, compared to the rest of the seating area this was actually quite dark and dreary in comparison. We both ordered a portabello mushroom & halloumi burger,I requested no bun and salad instead of chips. The tiniest side bowl of salad accompanied the dish there was no effort made to try and make it look a little bit more than the £12.95 its priced at.Even a bit more salad rather than just the couple of lettuce leaves given would of been appreciated.Shame as due to this experience we would not return but on a positive lovely friendly staff.I'm so sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your veggie stack burger and have spoken to the kitchen team about how the changes you requested to this menu item should have been dealt with. I would urge you to please give us another try and hope to welcome you again soon.

We have an extensive menu and specialise in fresh fish. We offer a good selection of different species of fish and shellfish everyday. A great selection of beers, ale, wines and spirits. Lovely 300 year old traditional village pub "as they used to be". Ch
Attentive but not in your face service, good selection and choice of food, (the fish section is a foody heaven) reasonable prices. We all chose fish from the specials board, the service was efficient and the food was well presented on hot plates all freshly cooked. We will certainly visit again.

We're regular customers of this gem in Finchampstead. Last night we were treated with a fantastic braised beef and the usual great service from Mark. Really nice atmosphere as well so we just couldn't ask for more. The new menu is very good, plus the daily specials board so plenty of choice. The food itself was delicious BUT the waiting time was appalling. There were only 10 people in the restaurant, however we waited 45 minutes between starter and main. The cheeseboard was downright mean withI'm sorry to hear that you have not had an enjoyable experience when visiting with us when it came to the service, but am pleased to hear that you enjoyed the food. If you would like to discuss further, please do email me at [email protected] where I would be happy to talk in more detail.

We went on Saturday night. My husband had their signature lasagne, which comes with a pot of salad and a pot of delicious home made fat chips. My husband assured me it was excellent as usualI chose the Hoisin Duck salad. The amount of duck was very generous and it tasted delicious. My only issue is I donât like nuts (I am not allergic to them, just donât like them) and there was a generous handful of cashew nuts in the salad, which I hadnât expected. House wine- Merlot was excellent, as was service A very enjoyable meal. Iâm glad you enjoyed your meal sorry about the cashew nuts we could have a replaced it for one without them
