6 of us went to the bell Woburn for an evening meal, we noticed how grubby and scruffy it was, the staff were very poor and had no customer service skills. The food was poor and we all left very disappointed.

In our bar and restaurant we serve a varied menu of delicious home cooked traditional Fayre. All our food is prepared using fresh and locally sourced, high quality produce. On a Sunday enjoy our traditional Sunday Roast served from 12 noon until 4pm. In o
Stayed for 2 nights (writing this on my last night, sat still hungry in my room!)First night meal was good actually, though service was a bit haphazard given I was one of only about 4 people in the place. Tonight different story, place was packed (turns out itâs quiz night), so even worse service, followed by the absolute worst steak Iâve ever been served (hint: either buy better quality or invest in steak knives because theyâre inedible and impossible to cut otherwise), joined with the least peppercorny peppercorn sauce (at least if the sauce was good it would have masked the crap steak a bit). It was also just this side of Luke warm. Given the waitress was also the barmaid I can appreciate she was struggling. Impossible to complain as I never saw her back at the table so after 30 mins just left the whole lot congealing on the plate while I waited patiently at the bar for another 20 mins being ignored just to pay for the crappy food I didnât eat. As you can tell, Iâm grumpy when Iâm hungry. Would be good if they just explained that a quiz was due, especially when the quiz master said that the quiz would have to be delayed as âapparently people are still eatingâ like we were bloody pariahs or something. Unimpressed.Thank you for taking the time to share your views with us.I am sorry you did not enjoy your dining experience with us. We were unusually very busy for our quiz night and therefor our bar team were extremely busy.We have had lots of glowing comments about our food including our steaks so I am disappointed that you did not enjoy yours. I am sorry that the waitress was not able to check on your meal once you had been served, due to how busy we were. Had you have mentioned your disappointment to the bar man when paying, we would most certainly have offered to cook you another steak and bring it to your room or taken it off your bill.We value all comments both good and not so good so thank you once again for taking the time to review us.Kind regardsTracy BalenOwner

We are a family and dog friendly pub / restaurant with a delightful open fire which is perfect for those cold winter days and nights. The summer time is definitely a time to visit, with a lovely garden & shelter located for maximum sun exposure, enjoying
Having lived in locally for over 12 years, this was only our second visit to this pub. The first time, around 10 years ago, was very disappointing. What a difference new management makes. People and dog-friendly, with the latter allowed to sit anywhere. The meals, a chicken balti and lamb rogan josh, were fantastic and amazing value. We left so excited that we had found somewhere within walking distance which was so good in every way.Hi, So glad you decided to visit again after such a long period of time, we have worked hard on changing the reputation and external features of the premises and appreciate your kind comments. We look forward to seeing again soon.

My husband and I had lunch here today with friends. We could not fault it. The food was delicious and the service good. We were served by a very friendly attentive waitress. I also thought that it was very reasonably priced. We needed a disabled parking space too and had no issues. In response to the reviews around parking fines, it quite clearly states on the very visible notice board in the car park that the car registration number has to be reported on entering the restaurant, We are not local to the area and it's unlikely that we will return any time soon but I would definitely recommend.Hi there,We are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your time here at The Swan!!! It's great to hear that both the food and service were equally excellent for you!!! We thank you very much for your recommendation and hope to see you again soon!!!Many thanks,Jonny

We had a discount from the previous owners and the new owners honoured it, Thank you! Starters of soup and mackerel were both spot-on. So were our main courses of hake with curry and fish pie, including lovely creamy mash. Sticky toffee pudding was light and rice pudding had intriguing crispy orange strips, which made it very unusual and delicious. Top marks all around. This is not quite 'fine dining' but it is very high quality and beautifully presented food in a pub setting.

It was good to find somewhere where we could have a cup of tea at the end of the day, but sadly there was no Gluten Free cake on offer. Nevertheless, we were served with a smile and the tea was reasonably priced.Thank you for your review. We have made so Gluten free cakes recently so hopefully we'll see you again soonKind RegardsJames

The Black Horse offers a blend of traditional and modern â exposed beams, cosy décor and a modern âbest of Britishâ menu teamed with an exciting and varied wine list and real ales. You can be assured of a warm welcome and great dining experience every tim
Very warm welcome. Enthusiastic waitress, eager to hear what we thought of the meal. I had the haunch of venison, which was cooked to perfection (pink!) and my husband who wanted his steak well done, was also delighted with the food. French onion soup was a bit disappointing, needs a few tweaks, but potted crab was delicious. This place isn't cheap (£90 for two, with two glasses of wine) but the food is consistently of a high standard. The pub is dog friendly, the table next to us had the delightful Eric sleeping under the table - do say hello if he is there when you visit :-)Hi LadyliddersWhat a lovely review. Thank you for taking the time to give us some feedback. We love being a dog friendly pub and seeing all the beautiful dogs pass throughThe Black Horse Team
