This pub looks small from the front but this belies the large area behind it. The dining room area is spacious and tastefully decorated and we were warmly welcomed. We were lucky to get a table as it was clearly popular. The menu was amazing with lots of choice for meat eaters, vegetarians, vegans with gluten free options too.Our niece sampled the children's menu which had lots of good options. She had pasta with homemade sauce (which thet were happy to serve seperately) followed by strawberry icecream. The adults in the party had vegetable fajitas, chicken fajitas, burger and blue and cream cheese mushroom tartlet. Portions were generous and everything was deliciously homemade...we were very impressed. The service was genuine and friendly. We will defintely be back once and wouldnt hesiate to recommend.

Overlooking the expanse of Witneyâs beautiful Church Green, The Fleece features in Alistair Sawdayâs Pub Guide 2013. Since we took it over ten years ago it has twice been voted one of the top twenty pubs in the UK. It also appears as a pub worth visiting
5 stars for service from their staff. Welcoming, genuine and not obtrusive.Good variety in the menu and we all enjoyed the dinner - from fresh cod loin to delicious veal sirloin to tasty bbq beef, topped with a bottle of pinot grigio rose. CheersHey, Thanks for a great review. I'm so happy to had a great time. Hopefully we see you again in the pub soon.

Travelled to the Cotswolds for a hen weekend and this was the local pub. We were met with a really warm welcome. Itâs a lovely old pub with gorgeous Cotswold stone. We all had lunch and they coped really well with lots of staggered orders at different times. We also use the pub as caterers at our venue and they delivered wonderful food to us which was great quality and lovely and hot. Highly recommend

Havenât been here for quite a while but always pass when itâs advertising pie night on a Thursday, meant to go but didnât get there. While Countryfile was on and we had guests decided to give it a try.I was pleasantly surprised, especially as there are pub meals for £10 which are excellent value.I at last tried the steak and ale pie, having meant to give it a try I was disappointed when the young lady advised me that the pies were no longer made on site.Instead they were made by the local butcher, have to say my disappointment did not last long, as the pie was lovely, donât know how it could have been better made in house.Lovely proper short crust pastry not just a flaky lid on top, a good size as not too big but also filling with all that lovely pastry, lovely tender meat, definitely recommend it, I will definitely be back. The ham egg and chips were also good and a generous portion.Good service on a busy night with people coming in on the way home from Blenheim Palace Countryfile.Recommended!

Having sold there eponymous London restaurant âSnows on the Greenâ in 2008, Sebastian and Lana took over the Swan at Southrop in the same year where they were awarded The Good Food Guide UK restaurant of the year award in 2010. After 4 successful years th
Came here on a sunny Sunday lunchtime. Was excited to try it out as hadn't been since it had been taken over and it is local to me via a nice walk. We got a table outside which had a great atmosphere and had some good music playing. At the moment the restaurant has a pop up kitchen due to the gas explosion in the kitchen but that really doesn't matter because there was still a good choice on the menu and more importantly, the food was delicious. There was quite a lot on the menu I could have being gluten free which was great. I had salmon which came with cocnout rice and a salsa and my boyfriend had beef quesadillas. The portions were very generous and the food super tasty. Staff were also very friendly and so we'll definitely be back to try out the full menu when it is in operation.

The Hollybush Witney. Independently owned and run by 2 local chaps who both share a passion for good food, real beer and fantastic service.
We had dinner here. Hadnât realised until too late it was a Greene King pub otherwise would have gone elsewhere. Not much choice of real ale although the one I did have was good. We walked through to dining area and although there were plenty of staff around, they seemed quite busy chatting to each other so we didnât feel we ought to interrupt and ask to be sat down! Eventually one who was not part of that group came and showed us to a table and was very affable. We only wanted main courses and both had Haddock. It was nicely cooked, plentiful chips. Only a small contained or pea purée (almost mushy peas, which I like , just not much of it). As with all Greene King places, it was a bit expensive for what we had - £47 for two fish and chips and two large glasses of wine. Service, once weâd been noticed, was fine.

Recently taken over and under new management. We are now a family run local pub, serving traditional pub grub, alongside our full restaurant menu. We have a good selection of real ales, beer and wine. And welcome all who walk through our doors, including
Visited late on a Sunday service but was still welcomed in and had quite possibly the best Sunday Roast Iâve had (I hope the wife doesnât read this!).Great portion size, even the kids one was big, meat was fantastic (we had a Pork and a couple of Lamb) and everything was cooked to perfection. The vegetables had the right amount for crunch and nothing soggy to be seen. And donât even get me started on the Yorkshire puddings!!The only downside was that my belly, and trousers, wouldnât allow me the room for a dessert.10/10 from me

What a lovely experience at lunchtime today. We were greeted with a pleasant welcome with very attentive staff. My partner was undecided on his drink and was given samples so he could decide. Lunch was warm, tasty, with a good choice of meats & vegetables. A pleasant view over the countryside as we had a table window. We were not rushed and felt relaxed in the pleasant atmosphere. Would highly recommend and we will be back for sure. Thank you so much for leaving us such a wonderful review. It really does mean so much to us all when we receive positive feedback on how hard we work!We look forward to welcoming you in the futureMia
