We came here for dinner on Friday evening. The atmosphere, service, menu choice and food was excellent. My partner ordered a steak medium well done which was overdone so weâd suggest ordering slightly under what you usually like (I blame him not the pub ). Camembert and risotto was delightful. Weâd definitely return.

The Old Inn is a traditional country pub in the heart of the idyllic village of Holt. Situated close to the historic town of Wimborne Minster, The Old Inn is the perfect destination when you fancy a homemade, traditional pub meal.
Pleasant family meal for 7 and the staff very accommodating ( 4 lots extra toast for the very nice pate).Wife had very nicely prepared proper pie.Dogs were made welcome. As a fellow pub owner Iâd probably suggest dropping the adding of the automatic service charge, other reviewers donât seem to like it and itâs one of those that niggles us Brits when we visit the USA! Otherwise all good, thanks for letting us stay in our Motorhome.Thank you for your comments and we are glad you had a great experience at the Old Inn. Service charge is always controversial and we have been trialling for six months. The service charge is fully discretionary so guests are not made to pay it. Many guests like the option as it makes it easier for them. It is 100% distributed to the staff which we find makes them feel appreciated, work harder and more attentive. It also helps to retain staff. The guests who don't like it or feel they have had bad service should not pay it. As a fellow pub owner, I would recommend adding a discretionary service charge to your menus for parties of 4-6 or more.

The Rose and Thistle a beautiful 16th Century thatched pub is nestled in the picture postcard village of Rockbourne on the outskirts of the New Forest. Outside is a lovely cottage garden to while away sunny days and watch the world go by. Inside is the pe
Quick and helpful service, as always in our experience. We chose to have main course and pudding and were happy to wait for the food to be prepared. As usual, it was well presented and came with separate seasonal vegetables alongside, included with the chosen items. A comfortable table, with NO music in the dining area (there's quiet music in the bar-service area, for those who enjoy it -- we don't).This is our chosen venue for eating out in this area.

Silver in the B&B Inn Award at The 2014 Dorset Tourism Awards, within this 16thC building, the friendly team describe it as a proudly traditional Dorset country Inn used by travellers and locals with all food sourced from within 30 miles. Amongst the wood
Stayed here for 2 nights recently with my husband to celebrate 40 years of marriage. Unfortunately when we arrived the room I had booked - The Cranborne Chase - was not reserved for us, despite several prior emails definitely booking this room and replies from the pub to confirm this. The room we were allocated was called Boveridge and it was OK - but a bit tatty in places and had a huge and very high bath, which is exactly what I did not want, I wanted a walk in shower - which the Cranborne Chase room had. The next day Paul said we could move into the Cranborne Chase room for our second night and the pub staff moved our stuff - they also offered a drink for the disappointment. Apart from this hiccup the food was excellent, the beds very comfy and the staff very friendly. The breakfast was delicious and obviously used fresh local produce. So all in all - a good stay - we would go again, just a shame about the room mix up.Dear Holiday wise. Many many thanks for your lovely review. Iâm glad we sorted everything and thank you for giving us the chance to do so. We were sorry too we could not cater for your Special Request. It would have meant declining another booking that went for three days and over lapped with your stay until the Saturday. This is the reason that hotels and inns never quarantee a request. Special Requests are typically classified like this statement from a well know hotel chains website. Any special requests that you make at the time of booking will be considered however, we cannot guarantee that these will be fulfilled. Your hotel will of course do their best to accommodate all requests but this is subject to availability. We will always try but we canât decline bookings to fulfill Special Requests. So glad we made up for this inability to fulfill your request and that you enjoyed the wine and our best room.

Once a Royal Hunting Lodge, the Royal Oak is a delightful 17th Century Inn, near the former market town of Fordingbridge, nestled in the heart of the New Forest National Park. The Royal Oak sits in the picturesque village of North Gorley, amongst its graz
Ended up here on a trip through the forest with visitors. Had a fantastic lunch and great beer and very friendly staff. My vegetarian partner said her food was clearly cooked by someone who loved food and my burger was fantastic. Shared breads could have had a little more bread for the amount of dips but everything was very tasty.

The Three Legged Cross in Verwood is a country pub & restaurant oozing rural charm and rustic character. Our picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ale
This pub/restaurant offers a good selection of âpub-food-plusâ, a good atmosphere and very good, friendly service. We had dinner with friends tonight and visited here for the third or fourth time. Starting with a draught real ale and a couple of glasses of wine, we moved inside to the restaurant. The fellas ordered the same - the pate platter for starters and a 8oz sirloin for main courses. The ladies had prawn cocktail and the mushrooms for starters and the lasagne main course. We had to send back the prawns because they were not cooked and they were quickly replacedBoth steaks were cooked just right and the ladies were happy with their lasagnes. Including a bottle of house red and the drinks before dinner we paid £165. Not a bad price for a good evening together. Thank you for taking the time to review your visit we are pleased that you enjoyed it. I would just like to comment that the prawns on the prawn cocktail actually come in cooked they are peeled and cooked prawns. Hope you will visit again soon.Kind Regards

A hidden gem on a quiet road leading into the New Forest. the London Tavern has every thing you want from a New Forest pub. Sunday Roasts, Quiz nights, Bingo and live music all add to the unique atmosphere of this traditional public house. Find us on face
Nice traditional pub with a log fire and good atmosphere. We all enjoyed the Dexter roast beef Sunday lunch followed by the Terry's chocolate orange cheesecake with ice-cream for dessert. The food was cooked and presented beautifully, priced very well and the service was excellent. Will definitely be returning.

Famillies, Muddy Boots & dogs with well behaved owners are all most welcome. Quality home-cooked food using Local Produce, served alongside Hall & Woodhouse's Distinctive cask-conditioned ales and superb wines accompanied by the warmest welcome.
We were grateful to find a dog friendly pub about 1/2 mile from our bungalow let, and happily had drinks on our first day.Next day went back for lunch and drinks, unfortunately food was inedible, nobody asked about our food until they wanted to clear the table. We indicated it was inedible. We went to bar to settle our account, to be fair the manager did not charge us for food or drinks, That did not help the fact we were hungry, and she gave no apologyfor the dreadful food.. It seemed she had no interest in the fact she lost the moneyand custom that day and probably a few more days as well, because we would have returned.Thank you very much for your review Peter R, we are disappointed that you did not enjoy your experience with us. I am happy that my staff refunded your entire bill, as it is not always about making money. My staff always give their best efforts to help and I'm sorry you didn't feel it was the case on this occasion.

A family run business in the heart of verwood. We strive to deliver excellent service with great food. We are dog and children friendly. So pop along sit back and enjoy the hospitality of Paul and his team.
The Albion Inn has had a tough couple of years and these past months have been the worst. Enterprise sold the property and The Healey Group are now managing it. However, you cannot expect to put in a landlord and then not help him. This pub needs a serious rethink and itâs the ownerâs responsibility to provide some help here. Currently (3 Sep 2019) there is no food on offer as the chef hasnât arrived yet but at least we now have regular real ales, often from the local Sixpenny Brewery, which werenât available before. The 6d Gold is a beautiful pint for late summer and the IPA a great winter brew. We locals are patient but we need this pub to come up a gear or, sadly, it will close forever.

Well, we weren't entirely sure what to expect. My Mum had suggested that the gossip around the old biddies of Verwood was that it wasn't good but comparing that to the other menus around the pubs in Verwood we took a gamble. The pub has been well decorated and for a Tuesday, steady streams of diners which is alsways a good sign. Daughter 1 is Gluten Intolerant but this was not a problem as she was well catered for.I had the fish and chips. Hoki if you please. Sustainable and skin off which a mild flaky texture and good value. Its a fish you can't buy fresh as it comes in a shatter pack but I urge you to try it, you won't be disappointed. The Sirloin steaks are excellent value and the pies homemade.Another great idea was to offer smaller portions for both main course and pudding!!! That said, my father ordered the crumble and that was quite big for a small portion. An extra mention goes to the young lady who served us. She was happy, smiling and got everything correct in terms of order. Rare to find such a great front of house person but credit must go to her as well as the kitchen. I really hope this team can stay together as this is a great teamHi Kevin,Thank you very much for your amazing comments. I will pass them on to the team, especially Rachel who was the young lady in question. I too hope the team stays together as they are bloody brilliant. We look forward to seeing you in the future.Kind RegardsGregThe Monmouth Ash
