Find out what Pub restaurants to try in South Ayrshire. The village of Alloway is home to the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum and the Robert Burns Heritage Trail. Highlights of the trail include Auld Kirk Alloway, Burns Cottage, Burns Monument Gardens and the 13th century Brig O'Doon. South of Alloway along the attractive A719 coastal road is Culzean Castle and Country Park which offers much of interest all ages. En route is an unusual roadside attraction called Electric Brae, a 'magnetic hill' where a car left out of gear will appear to go uphill due to an optical illusion. A few minutes drive from Culzean Castle is the famous Open Golf championship course at Turnberry where the clubhouse is open to the public.

What a great place. We were welcomed by friendly staff and attended to efficiently. Pleased to find this place is really dog friendly with sensible seating arrangements. Drinks reasonably priced and the food was excellent. Kathleen served up our food which was cooked to perfection and my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed their home made "tatties and mash". We all agreed it is one of our favourites and look forward to our next visit to this well run pub.

Nestled in the quiet South Ayrshire village of Coylton, the Trysting Thorn Hotel ( formerly the Kyle Hotel) lies 5 miles (8.0 km) east of of Ayr, known as the toon of 'honest men and bonnie lassies'
A prominent location in Joppa on the main road through to Colylton. A rather pubbish look from the outside. Inside it is comfortable and rustic with a dining area at the back and a lawn with outside eating available. Staff were very welcoming and conversational. A typical menu and the food was quick in arriving with good portions, well cooked and tasty. Would be happy to return.

Just moved to Girvan and this restaurant had been recommended on a local site so my husband and I decided to try it out as the reviews were excellent. We were not disappointed. The place was nicely decorated and felt really homely and welcoming. It was quiet but it was mid-week so that was to be expected. The waitress was polite and helpful and couldnât do enough for us. The menu was good with plenty of choices and reasonably priced. Food was great - real home cooked dishes and good portion sizes. There was also a good drinks and wine list. Highly recommended.

We both visited this fairly large Wetherspoon's on the 30th, the tasteful decor was about aviation/golf, staff were pleasant and helpful, the toilets, were also tastefully decorated and very clean were unusually on th level so no up and down stairs.

Family run restaurant deep in the heart of burns country 5 miles from Ayr.
Had lunch at the coylton arms today. Varied choice on the Sunday lunch menu. Restaurant was very quiet which was nice. We didn't have a starter but all 5 of us thoroughly enjoyed our main course. Staff were very friendly. Myself and my grandpa had steak pie which was lush. Cubes of steak were so tender and just melted in the mouth. Cajun chicken salad was out of this world. Also the chicken breast with black pudding. Sirloin steak was cooked to perfection. Desserts were stunning. I would very much recommend to come here for food and a lovely friendly welcome with nice atmosphere

Meridian is a bright, spacious and central cafe, bar & bistro that serves contemporary food and stylish cocktails in chic cosmopolitan surroundings.
I took my friend here yesterday for her birthday and what a disappointment first we both ordered starters which my friend was given hers when she was about finished I had to ask for mine the reply was oh did you order soup Iâll just get it for you once we were finished they cleared our plates in which time we waited 30 mins and still no sign of our main meal my friend went to the toilet and could see that the salad she had ordered was sitting and the chef was putting the fries onto the plate with his bare hands finally when my friend came back from the toilet we waited another 10 mins before going to the staff and saying we no longer wanted the food the staff told us it was just about ready but we knew it had been sitting so said no thank you we have waited long enough and would just pay for the food we had eaten they did apologize and told us we didnât have to pay but we certainly wonât be back it was really annoying that I was treating my friend to a birthday lunch and thought we we were going somewhere nice but how wrong was I. NONSENSE LORRAINERead this, then picture the person writing it. Thats what we are up against every now and again. The vast majority of our customers are fantastic but occasionally you get some really difficult ones. We do our best even in those circumstances but you're fighting a losing battle sometimes. As the saying goes...empty vessels make the most noise!

A family owned public house in a seaside town centre, a welcoming friendly atmosphere offering a good range of food and drinks. Beer garden with 125 seating capacity for those summer months.
We have been here 3 or 4 times over the years (we aren't local) and it has never disappointed us. They have the best (perhaps the only?) beer garden in Troon; Well-maintained, private and pleasant. It is 15:30 on 1/6/19 and we have literally just left because we had to go back to our hotel to get ready for dinner tonight but we both felt the need to say that the service, atmosphere and overall management are all fantastic.

The staff are friendly. Itâs a small friendly bar, with a separate restaurant section. It has a very local feeling, whilst the food has good choices. My favourite remains their peppercorn steak. Itâs the second time I have visited. Last month it was with visiting friends from California, who all enjoyed the food tremendously. The place is rustic, classical, & clean. I found scrabble, books for kids to scribbble on, & some books if you get bored. Dog friendly. Itâs homely service with a beautiful smile.

Serving quality food from 12.00 Noon till 9pm daily. Where possible we use locally sourced fresh produce. Daily Specials Board, Lunch & Evening Menus.
Terrible experience.Arrived at 1.20pm ordered at 1.40pm waited 35 mins for our main course and felt cold by this time.Should have walked out but did not..Ordered the lamb cofta,,as recommend. by the waitress, as I said I liked lamb,as not sure if I would like it. When it finally arrived I could not eat it as a bit dry and far to spicy. Spoke to Dorothy the owner who,s attitude appeared to be well you ordered it . She did not offer to try and sort anything out for me My friend and Ileft without ordering a sweet or coffee Itâs a sad day when a pensioner leaves dissatisfied with no food having paid £12.95. and had travelled over 15miles. Will not be back or recommend.could be small ,so asked the waitress about the lamb cofta.I should have asked what cofta was as did not know and only asked about lamb on flat bread. She felt I would like it. So thought I would give it a try. Unfortunately I could not eat it as the lamb is made minced up and does not taste like lamb. When I said to the waitress I felt it was too spicy and was dry. I was left with nothing to eat..Dorothy came over, but her attitude was well to bad that is what you ordered. As a new customer having travelled 20miles she could have tried to sort something out but did not appear to be interested. We did not stay on for a pudding. A pensioner that pays £12.95 and has to leave well over an hour with nothing to eat is shocking. Will never be back and donât recommend.
