Arrived here for dinner with friends, and despite the seeming confusion with our booking , we were quickly given a table. The food, as usual, was excellent and the service was friendly and efficient. This is a very nice venue and it is best to book I advance, especially during the Summer Season. We will be back!

Booked a table for a family celebration service wasn't great food very average. Venison very chewy, scollops tiny, pizzas with pre-made base, dressed crab salad just handful of leaves with what looked like pre-bought dressed crab thrown on the side. Overall effort and presentation could be better and staff a little more organised and friendlier. Not what I expected from such a lovely setting very disappointing with £130 bill. Should have gone further up the road to the other place.

A few weeks ago the Rotary Club of Tain and Easter Ross met at the St Duthus for a Thursday evening meeting. We all chose from the standard menu. The portions were excellent, the food well cooked and the staff as friendly and helpful as ever.

Popped in here on a Saturday evening while on holiday. We arrived at 6pm and were the only diners however the place soon filled up. My partner had the duck which he felt was a little overdone but good all the same. I later heard another customer being asked by a different staff member how he would like his duck done, we were not asked. My haddock was good though rather large a portion for me personally. Dessert delicious. Will be back.

Allangrange Arms is a Pub and Restaurant in the Scottish Highlands, six miles from Inverness, serving real ales, fine wines, and gourmet pub food created with locally sourced ingredients. Once a month there is a live band playing in the coach-house. There
Place was recommended by owner of cottage we were staying at and it did not disappoint. Ambience was what we were looking for, local and warm. Foos was even better and staff were extremely friendly and helped out with kidsâ menu requirements. Highly recommended.

We ended up in the Arch Inn due to recommendations of our guides and were not dissapointed. They do not take reservations but since we were early, it was no problem to get a table (out of season). The service was very welcoming and helpful, also in the choice of wine. We took the catch of the day which was one of the best meals during our trip to Scotland (salmon with a very delicious sauce, mash and fresh vegetables). Also the wine was very nice!

We booked to go for Sunday lunch yesterday and what a disaster. We arrived just before 2pm. The kitchen was dark the bar virtually empty and none of the restaurant table laid for meals. a man behind the bar fairly obviously wanted to ignore us. We stood around in the restaurant area for a few minutes and after the staff member ignored us left. They very obviously don't serve Sunday lunch - why the hell didn't they tell us when we phoned to book the table - we wasted many miles and much time yesterday. We have been to Fuaran many many times in the past and it has always been great - how come it went so wrong this time?
