EAT, DRINK & ENJOY !!... Beautiful Country Pub in stunning location... boasting a large garden & stone patio perfect for those summer evenings!! Creative British menu with daily specials & lighter lunch-time offerings... Amazing food, stunning wines, Visu
Met some old friends at this pub as equi distant between us all, what a surprise. The menu looked interesting, the service excellent and the food was superb, all at a very reasonable price compared to London; pity it was not close to home otherwise weâd become regulars.

Due to its popularity on T.A. we decided it would be best if we reserved a table at this roadside pub/restaurant. There was ample parking space and a pretty walk from there to the entrance. The interior is spacious with several linked areas. Tables are generously spaced apart. There are interesting artefacts on ledges, shelves and on the walls. In the centre of the largest area is a long and impressive bar.Having been greeted on entering we were shown to our table and menus delivered. Throughout our visit we were well looked after by a series of different staff, all friendly and efficient. The menu choice was large, much of it homemade and nicely split between meat, fish and vegetarian dishes. We did have quite a wait for our main courses but was worth it as the food we ate was delicious. Lamb shoulder for me and steak and ale pie for my partner, followed by salted caramel cheesecake with chocolate ice cream for dessert. All in all it was a lovely meal in a smart and well managed establishment with excellent staff.

High quality, plentiful food with South East Asian Specialties. Served in a traditional pub atmosphere. We had Asian sharing platter for two (between 3 of us) which was tasty, varied and large!Mains arrived before we had finished our starter which left our table a bit overloaded which was unfortunate. Consisting of half rack of ribs, rump steak and beef rendang curry. My ribs were so so tasty (couldnât eat them all),steak cooked to perfection and the curry had been made slightly milder to cater for my friends tastes. Polite and attentive serving staff. The cask beer (Butcombe) was well looked after. We also had keg Beavertown (Neck Oil) refreshing but a bit pricey at £5.50/pint.Will definitely visit here again when next in the area.

You will easily find The Spring Inn on the Bath Road just a few minutes drive from Junction 12 of the M4 and close to Reading, Theale and Pangbourne. We are far enough from all that hustle & bustle and you'll know you're in Royal Berkshire countryside! No
We were travelling from Newbury, but looking for somewhere not too far from Reading, to dine with friends and the Spring Inn was recommended. So thank you friend for your excellent recommendation. This restaurant is easily accessible off the A4 and there is plenty of parking and space outside to eat or drink, if the weather is good.Inside the restaurant is huge, but light, airy and spacious. it has a rustic, but modern look and their napkins are real fabric- quite a rarity these days in mid-range restaurants. The menu had a great selection - especially nice to see we could still get an amazing roast at a very good price on a Sunday evening. Divine meat and great portions; and there was no charge for a an extra jug of gravy. We loved every dish and practically licked the plates clean! We were all sorry we didn't have enough space for a pudding. The staff were really great and very friendly. I would highly recommend a visit to the Spring Inn. We will definitely be back- thanks for a great meal.

Yet another pub that is no longer really a pub but a very good restaurant.Very large menu with traditional pub fare, plus some different meals and a small daily specials boarb. Spacious interior with nice spacing between tables, efficient and friendly staff. Starters consisted of a Greek salad, very good and as a Greek salad should be - no leaves! I had duck pancakes, these were really, really nice and I highly recommend them. Mains were salmon en croute, very good, crispy pastry surrounding a nice piece of salmon with mushrooms. The tarragon sauce was really good and the accompiaments of sauteed potatoes and mixed veg rounded of the meal nicely.I had scampi, sauteed and veggies very nice standard pub classic. My only grouse is all the meals seem to come with the same mixed veg, cauli, broccolli, carrots and peas. For me I would some extra choices as side dishes. No room for puds - as usual. We will be back.

We tried this as we had heard it was quite good. However expensive and distinctly average all round. Trying to upsell from the off is never a good start. Pushing olives bottles of water etc from the start isn't what we expected. We ordered 2 rounds of drinks during the night both times one item was missing. Starters delivered except for one that we had to wait 5 mins for. Starters a mixed bag Camembert and Scotch egg good. White bait over cooked, prawns ok ish. Main course all came out ok. Lamb , Halloumim Burger ok. Fillet Steak very average to poor no taste and one had to be sent back as should have been rare wasn't even warm. Beef Wellington at £27.5 was abysmal. Steak inside was over cooked, tasteless and and was more like an overcooked roasting joint. Pastry soggy and didn't taste any other filling. Service wasn't very good but one lady seemed to be covering whole place. There are alot better places around.

Fresh seasonal and locally sourced produce ,cooked to order , great single origin coffee, cask ales, craft lagers & fantastic cocktails.
This is probably my favourite pub/restaurant in Reading. Lovely atmosphere and decor inside, really good genuine pub food. Good selection of drinks and beers as well. Service was quick and efficient. Very polite gentleman at the bar . I had a burger: nice and thick and juicy, cooked wonderfully well. Chips were good as well, I also had a salad as a side. Strongly recommended!!! Hi Thank you for taking the time to write a lovely review . The pictures are awesome as well . We hope to see you soon

Elm tree is a unique pub full of warmth and character. I spent the entire day with a glass of wine overlooking the beautiful British country side. Ryan, Alex and Chelsea were all welcoming and knowledgable. I even stayed for dinner and had a decent pub grub. Canât fault this place. Five stars all the way and highly recommended:)

We went last week to this inn for a quick lunch to show our four visitors this very old and interesting inn, and church. As it was a hot day we had our very filled and delicious warm baps in the garden. We all (6) very much relaxed and enjoyed our food and the men enjoyed their beers Although the tables were almost all taken, we were quickly served . We then went on to the church. A truly memorable day.
