Staying at the hotel opposite we stopped in when passing for a quick drink, and after some deliberation we decided to get food, but weren't impressed.£10 for a burger, only for it to come with two slices of that cheap orange "plastic" cheese, and it wasn't very nice meat either, you could tell they were just cheap frozen burger van patties and not fresh made!! The chicken my wife had was cold in the middle but not raw, hence it was probably a microwaved frozen breast.

Come in for a nice quiet drink and was pleasantly surprised at the different ales, 12 to choose from. The bar staff are really friendly and very helpful. A place worth visiting. If I lived here, this would be my local

The Inn On The Quay is situated in a prominent position on Goodrington Sands Beach, near Splashdown Water Park & the Paignton to Dartmouth Steam Railway, & has picturesque views over the English Riviera. Many of our friendly & experienced team have worked
Living locally, I have visited many times over 13 years. There have been periods, certainly, when food has been mediocre even if cheap. It is not mediocre at present! We ate from the lunchtime menu and I had the âgiant Atlantic hakeâ upgrade. Less than £6 but as good a piece of white fish and as perfectly cooked as I have had anywhere in the world. The manager here is striving very hard for improvement in every direction. Great food from chefs Harry & JJ. Give it a go!

The Old Manor is a 17th century Grade 2 listed Thatched Pub and Restaurant, with rustic character and charm. Offering casual dining and catering for small or large functions. We source the finest and freshest ingredients from a variety of small local prod
I found this place on the internet for a place to eat whilst on holiday in Torbay and on arrival was surprised to find this thatched property in the middle of a very built up area, I wrongly assumed it would be a more rural cosy country pub. However, the staff were very welcoming and friendly but it was rather noisy with TV screens and music. The food sounded lovely but was very average and a bit disappointing. The fish with the chips was very overcooked - a dark brown batter and dry fish inside. The Mediterranean vegetables were soggy and not really Mediterranean more like what was left in the fridge. The pie that was ordered was very nice.

Recently had a meal for two at the Blagdon, my goodness, how it has changed. The food is expensive, which is fine if it is of good quality, but sadly itâs very average and I suspect itâs pre-prepared, or frozen and rapidly heated, it simply came out too fast to be prepared to order. The venue used to have charm, itâs now very antiseptic, and lacks character for an evening meal for two. I can see how it would work for a Sunday roast with a high turnover of customers, but it didnât work for an a la carte evening meal for two.I can see how it runs efficiently, but efficiency isnât everything, you end up with a canteen, and the Blagdon is heading that way if itâs not careful.

Traditional English Pub and Carvery. Servicing fresh and local produce. Dessert Kitchen serving homemade; crepes, waffles, sundaes, crumbles, apple pies, you name it!
We walked into what appeared to be a barn furnished cheaply with long rows of wooden tables and chairs. The carvery is a £1 dearer on a Sunday at £9 and quoted as âThe SUPER Carvery â but it was far from Super. The Turkey was rolled and resembled plastic, the pork, lamb and gammon were indistinguishable as they were all dry and grey. But there was always the beef, at the carved end it was red with congealed blood and I can only think that all the meat had been on the counter since they opened at 12.As we had no food in the house because we had just returned from holiday we picked what looked edible and then reviewed the veg.Shredded cabbage was dry and had no colour, carrots, potatoes, red cabbage not bad but none looked appetising the way they were layer out.Gravy, was thick brown and looked more like paint. We sat down, picked at our plates but it did not taste any better than it looked. How this place has received the good reviews it has had since it opened I donât know???

We arrived feeling famished! We chose this very reasonably priced Carvery. The meat and vegetables were beautifully cooked, This is the best place to go to for a Sunday carvery, the meat is always cooked to perfection. The vegetable selection was large and well presented. Great value and I am sure you will not be disappointed.

Henrys is a traditional style pub that serves meals throughout the day
Been coming here for years and they really must be congratulated for the maintaining of their very high standards. With a good and varied menu and served at an excellent price, their meals accompany and excellent and regularly changing selection of guest ales.

Torbay's premier sports bar, serving breakfast from 8am daily, full lunch/dinner menu from 12noon. We have a great selection of drinks and coffee and welcome 4 legged friends
We have family down here so are often in the area and found this gem about 2 years ago......Had the breakfast deal for £4.50 including tea or coffee on Sunday. All freshly cooked with a choice of fried bread or toast and instead of extra hash brown you could have more sausage, bacon or egg. Served till midday I think. It was amazing value, very tasty and good quality sausages and bacon. The best brekkie in Torbay!
