I have to admit, this was not a typical choice for me, but me and my husband were hungry and needed a quick lunch before returning to Helsinki. The service was great, the guy at the bar really took time to find us the most suitable beers for our choices of food. He said their most popular portion is the duck, so I decided to try it, although I am not a big fan of duck, and my husband had game meatballs. The food was simply perfect!!! The duck was a little crispy, a bit sweet and it just fell apart - I have never eaten anything this tender! This is by far the best duck and one of the best meals I have ever tried! Also my husband was very satisfied with the meatballs. The atmosphere is maybe not very cosy, but for that kind of service and food I will visit this gastro pub any time again!

Just glasses of recommended local beer but very nice first impressions - have to get here again! They seemed to have an array of tap beers to enjoy.

Ohranjyvä is a classic pub/restaurant serving big portions and decent beer. The layout of the restaurant makes it a bit complicated and cramped. They serve two beers brewed for them (APA brewed by Pyynikin and Weizen (Vehnä) brewed by Hopping Brewsters). Try the Weizen with the Puerto Ricon pannu. A killer combination.
Pub and dining restaurant Patarouva offers a leisurely atmosphere in Tampere. On the pub side, you`ll see exciting sports moments and enjoy your day with friends. In the restaurant you will enjoy both evergreen and seasonal dishes. The Patarouva offers a
Great pizzas (mexicana 9,90⬠and firenze 10⬠). Very crispy and thin crust, fillings were great. Also very good salad included in the price. The table next to us had burgers which seemed to be quite nice and big too. Menu consists of grill plates, burgers and pizzas.Interior may be a bit outdated but kind of fits to the atmosphere.Service was excellent, fast and kind staff.

Plevna is a restaurant located in the old Finlayson factory in Tampere. As that, it is one very long room layered into two tiers with tables, and the bar/kitchen on the lower side. There are lots of booths and tables in between, everything made of old wood. It has a nice, old European feel to it, with shelves of beer glasses and steins in front of the ceiling-high windows that face the street. As with every place in Tampere, you will need to make a reservation to come to eat at Plevna, and making it int he same day might mean you get a table for 8 pm so be aware: the place is popular. The staff are very friendly and direct. The moment we sat our server suggested we try and order as fast as possible, because the kitchen was very, very busy and it might take some time to get the food. The beers and meads at Plevna are numbered and they're quite good. We tried the wheat beer, the bock, and the mead. They're all house made and they have that true feel of small brewery, they're very distinct. The food is limited but very well made. We were running late so I ordered the house burger only they didn't have burgers (no idea how a restaurant can be out of burgers but they were, so that was a minus for me) and since I didn't want chicken I opted for a steak with baked root vegetables and potato medallions. The food came sooner than expected based on what they'd told us, and it was very good. The steaks were cooked to perfection, and so were the vegetables, which were still solid and flavorful but perfectly cooked through and seasoned. I was not that impressed with the potato medallions, as they tasted greasy to me. If you're going for desserts try the homemade blackcurrant cider ice cream. The lemon muffin-cake that accompanies isn't writing home about -it was quite dry-, but its flavor worked as a great offset for the ice cream, which was very sweet. It has a very unique flavor, it was refreshing and very, very tasty. It could be less sweet, or the lemon cake more tart, and it would work better but it's still a very nice experience. The staff were quick, efficient and friendly. They did things with humor, which was nice. One thing we did notice and we'd like to pint out to the management of this locale was about every single small, empty table that stood between the booths with the "reserved" mark on them. It was clear to us from our one vist that these tables were kept "reserved" while they weren't, as having them empty helped the staff walk between them with large tables of drinks and food. And that was fine. But we aso so many prospective diners walk by looking for a table and commenting there was nothing at seeing all these empty, reserved tables. Please consider removing those tables, or at least using some of them for actual diners, as it looked awkward and we heard other diners comment on the same fact. Other than that, a very nice place, great food, great drinks, nice atmosphere.

Really good pizza, tasted "home made" and not at all "industrial". Good range of drinks. They also serve lunch that I've heard is good. The terrace by the river is beautiful and there is a steady stream of people coming and going.

This Tampere pub was one of the first "real pubs" in Tampere when it started in 1968.Interestingly enough, the premises housed earlier a milk shop...Now beer, good food an a laid-pack "Tampere-style" atmosphere. Famous for its grilled meat portions, but typical Finnish salmon soup and fried Baltic herring is also available. Although basically a pub there is a friendly waiter service. Not too many tables so especially on busy evenings, a booking is adviseable. Go to their web pages for a nice introductory video!

It is good that this small town has got one restaurant, but unfortunately they have lot to do before they earn a name as a Restaurant. The fish we ordered was without any flavour. The beefs we ordered were chilled. The wine list was as short as the history of swedish war heros in second world war. The service was slow but very friendly.
