Having been rudely told by a barman who did not even look up when we arrived at another Ironbridge restaurant that they were "fully booked", we walked further up the road and discovered The Swan Taphouse. It was a busy Saturday night, but we were welcomed and were shown to what was almost the last available table.Given it was so busy, the order-taking was a little slow, but this gave us the opportunity to enjoy the beer!Once we had ordered, the food arrived promptly and was excellent! There was a live band at 9pm, by which time the place seemed to be emptying, which was a shame.
Looking for lunch on an August Wednesday, my wife and I stopped at this village pub in Longville in the Dale, only to find that at 12.30pm there were no other customers. I do not know why it was so quiet, because we were served good portions of excellent food at really reasonable prices. I recommend this pub and its food to any TripAdvisor member touring in South Shropshire.

We are a friendly run family pub. Where a warm welcome awaits you every time. You can sit outside on the patio or sit over looking the river Severn . Enjoying a nice ice cold drink or have a meal, looking out for the kingfishers or the otters. In the wint
We called in at lunch time for a quick drink after visiting the nearby Tile Museum, and were impressed by the friendly welcome. We came back to eat the following night and had very satisfying meals for decent prices. There was a mixture of locals and visitors, both from the UK and further afield; we heard American and Australian accents. Service was helpful, friendly and efficient. I had the best flavoured faggots ever (if you don't know what they are, think meatballs) with cheesy mash potatoes and mushy peas, topped off with onion gravy- British pub classic!

A landmark inn, situated in the beautiful Shropshire hills; approximately 25 minutes, easy drive from Shrewsbury or Telford. The inn boasts two lovely bar area's. A brasserie specializing in fresh fish and charcoal cooked grills and up to 9 en suite bedro
This is a typical country pub set in a rural location surrounded by fields and agriculture. We stopped here for a late lunch last Sunday, the food was OK but nothing exceptional or outstanding to comment onUnfortunately there was a big issue with flies, we spent the entire meal waving them away from our plates which did rather spoil our visit. Based in Cheshire we often eat in rural pubs and have never experienced such a big problem previously. I am not sure what, if anything the management can do to reduce the problem, but needless to say we will not be visiting here again.Just 2 stars due to the flies, would have been 3 otherwiseWe'll have a word with the Lord to see if he can smite this pestilence from the earth!!In the meantime I guess where there's there's fields streams livestock & hot humid weather we'll have to keep using fly paper etc.etc. & keep asking customers NOT to open windows that we've shut however hot it is.Either that or I'll move to Cheshire which is obviously fly free David

We popped here on Saturday afternoon for a drink outside as the weather was mild. Itâs perfect to watch the world go by with lovely views. Drinks were nice and reasonable, we didnât eat but the sharing platters that went past looked delightful. worth a visit.

As a local who frequents The Gaskell Arms , and usually have a good meal we were hugely disappointed this evening, the homemade steak pie and cottage were good home cooked fare. On the specials board was a duck breast in pineapple and brandy jus. It arrived was tough, tasteless and with very limited jus. At a guess it had been microwaved, It was inedible. We sent it back, as it was £15. To the staffs credit, they accepted this, replaced it with fish and chips which was good. Chips were cheap frozen ones - and veg uninspiring. May need to up its game.

Beautiful 17th Century Inn offering home cooked food and comfortable accommodation. Located in the quaint village of Much Wenlock in the heart of Shropshire.
My husband and I had been walking with our two dogs and headed into the village for some lunch. I popped in to double check that the bar was dog friendly and found the landlord to be extremely helpful. Lunch was more than what we were both expecting and it was beautiful. The atmosphere in the bar was great and will certainly head back next time we visit the area.Fantastic job guys keep it up!

We were in the area and googled places to eat for lunch. We liked the reviews we read about The George & Dragon on Trip Advisor, so headed for it. It's a really traditional English pub. Welcoming atmosphere, good beer and a very appealing menu with specials and locally sourced ingredients. Yes, we had the local butcher's special faggots, followed by homemade crumble and custard! Delicious. Not only an enjoyable lunch but friendly service and a very modest bill. So,thank you G &D for a very happy lunch.Thank you Kate, we really appreciate the review. We love Paddy's faggots and Judy's crumble too!Cheers, see you again soon.Robin
