A Family Run Pub, serving great home cooked and locally sourced food which represents the very best of relaxed and informal dining. We would love you to stay in one of our seven en-suite well equipped bedrooms and enjoy a freshly prepared breakfast just h
Visited the hotel twice whilst staying locally at Gibraltar Farm campsite and eat both nights. Thefood was very good and there was plenty of it, the beer was superb and the staff very welcoming and friendly. It is also a dog friendly pub, with dogs welcome everywhere except the conservatory.

We stopped for lunch after a morning stroll. The Inn has undergone a complete transformation since our last visit. We were warmly welcomed and sat outside in the October sunshine. Inside, there is a dining room and very comfortable bar area.We had lunch off the fixed price menu. Excellent value. The food is pub style but with a twist and elevated to restaurant standard. Excellent fish and chips and chicken as main dishes. Prompt and friendly service. Deserves to do well. There is a nice garden area and plenty of room for parking.Dear Stephen, Thank you for your review of The New Inn. We're glad that you enjoyed some autumnal sunshine in our garden - it's a great place to relax with food and drinks. We're also happy you enjoyed the food and service; hopefully next time you may be able to stay in one of our new boutique rooms! We look forward to seeing you againWarm regardsLaura

We would visit this place most years and always it had those nice finishing touches that Ian and his wife always provided.Unfortunately visited recently knew something was not right when walking towards the rear entrance patio tables with used ashtrays full of rainwater looking bad. The area needed a good tidy up and weeding. On entering the bar it was really quiet which is unusual for a Saturday afternoon.later had food which was ok but typical pub grub and not to the standard and variety that Ian the previous landlord provided. The toilets that used to clean and fresh now smell of urine. It is quite clear that both guests an locals are now eating elsewhere.Very disappointed.HiThank you very much for leaving us your review.I'm very sorry that we didn't meet your expectations during your visit. We aim to provide high standards in all areas, and I am very sorry that this visit you have not experienced that. I will ensure your comments are passed onto the team we will investigate the issues you have raised. We hope that you will give us another chance in the future.

Thereâs a good range of wholesome food, smoothly served at the Smithy, with good beer to go with it. On a weekday, after missing lunch, we took advantage of the 5pm start of evening meal service and werenât disappointed. By the time we left, the restaurant and pub were both busy. The steak pie was very good, as were the curry and the lambâs liver (which was one of the daily specials). Located in a small village, the Smithy draws a big clientele, so we suggest you go there too.

Public inn serving hot and cold food and drink to be taken indoors or outdoors, an extensive range of drinks on the bar. Two Log fires and big screen T.V .A children's play area and disabled access, dog friendly (on leads.)
After reading the recent article in Cumbria Life Magazine we called in for Lunch an what a lovely place inside. The exterior of the building from the main road does not do the Tavern justice. The place has been refurbished to a high standard with quality fixtures and fittings. Lunch of Ham Egg & Chips, Mac & Cheese Salad with Garlic Bread and Cajun Chicken Salad were well presented, delicious and good value for money.Facilities were of a high standard and clean, same applies to the disabled facilities.

Village pub with four en suite letting rooms. Owned and run by Becky and Ash Dewar since 2013. Four individual en suite letting rooms. Specialising in local ales and simple fresh food.
Found this place when it first opened with the current owners years ago and loved it.......Love it even more now. Food quality was great, we had the Chicken, avocado and tomato salsa burger with chips - it was perfect... local artisan roll really made it!..... worth every penny. Great to see them doing so well, place goes from strength to strength. The food on other tables looked equally delicious. The owner still very friendly. Loos were immaculate. Highly recommended..... such a shame we live a couple of hundred miles away now or we would be here more often.
