Market Harborough is a market town within the Harborough district of Leicestershire, England. It has a population of 22,911 (2011) and is the administrative headquarters of Harborough District Council. It sits on the Northamptonshire-Leicestershire border. The town was formerly at a crossroads for both road and rail; however the A6 now bypasses the town to the east and the A14 which carries east-west traffic is 6 miles (9.7 km) to the south. The town is served by East Midlands Trains with direct services to Leicester, Nottingham, Sheffield, Derby and St Pancras International. Rail services to Rugby and Peterborough ended in 1966.

Nice enough pub with real beer, not just lager.Unfortunately we went for the Chef's Specials. Ham , egg and chips and Scampi and chips.Plenty of Ham and a nicely cooked egg. The chips were useless frozen and then overcooked. the peas were pretty poor supermarket basics. What got me was on the next table they had chips which were nice and steak cut.If you go to the Black Horse go a la carte, not the specials.

Canal boaters, not Foxton Lock visitors, do not really require the pretentiousness of the Foxton Locks pub. Here at Bridge 61 you can obtain well kept beer, basic but very edible food, at good realistic prices. Enjoy warm camaraderie, a lovely atmosphere and have a thoroughly good time. No wonder all the 'Waterways' volunteers meet here !Bye the way, should you be a boater there is a quality launderette and showers available. A really hot shower will only set you back £1.20. A lovely place to visit.

A beutiful little place, recently taken over by a wonderfully friendly team. Good quality, hearty, and traditional food. Excellent for a day out for a meal.Great selection of drinks considering this is a relatively petite establishment.And the prices won't break the bank. IF you're travelling round south Leicestershire, put it on your itinerary.

The food was similar to a 2 for 1 establishment and certainly not worth the extortionate prices. Was extremely disappointed and even more shocked at the price of the bill. Wouldnât return for food. No ambience & bizarre village feel. Doesnât have music on as canât afford the licence!

Yeah, weâll wait in an empty restaurant midweek whilst you check the bookings diary to see if you can fit 2 of us in...Still mostly empty when we were leaving...Dirty glasses on tables, no sugar offered with coffee, had to get attention from staff who are adept at looking around without seeing. 5 of us booked at 12pm for lunch. Set menu but a great choice of meats & also salmon & a veggie option. Havenât been here for years as do not live locally anymore. What a change and definitely for the better. Very nice interior, staff great, waiting time spot on and the food was in my sons words the best roast dinner heâs ever had in a restaurant. My beef and the roast potatoes were perfectly cooked as were the vegetables. Desserts were all delicious. We will definitely be returning as very impressed .
