Friendly professional staff, great atmosphere, vibrant young people gather here, sport on televisions around the bar room including sky sports. Food was fantastic on the menu and specials board. Off road parking although limited, beer garden, covered smoking area with terrace. Great , lively and friendly.

Very pleasant interior, well designed and contemporary, yet in keeping with the older age and style of the property. Owned by an old Suffolk Brewery,Nethergates, but managed for them. Emphasis on food, not expensive, yet not pub grub or pub grub prices. Staff a little lacking in their price bracket offerings and had little knowledge of their wine list...not so good with bottles in excess of £50!!However,overall very nice and worth a visit...time will no doubt improve them.Recommended.

This was the first time we had dined at this pub but had read some very good reviews. We were not disappointed the meal was delicious, well presented and the staff were excellent. Also, we thought it was very reasonably priced. We Will certainly go again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend The White Horse, Whepsted.

A warm welcome awaits you in this 16th century restaurant with rooms. The George is situated on the edge of the village green in Cavendish, positioned in between the popular villages of Clare and Long Melford and just a short drive from the timeless villa
Starting with the good, the flat iron steak was perfectly cooked and the hake fillet blackboard special also, so the chef knows whatâs to be done. We were left unimpressed by the service. We had booked and on arrival taken to table with an A3 sized sheet and two smaller pieces of paper arranged for us with no explanation of what they were. Turned out to be a large drinks menu, a set menu and a main menu. We sat by the blackboard so could see the specials. That was the arrival, some minutes later another server placed a bottle of water on table. Ten minutes later the drinks order was taken and after what seemed a long time the drinks arrived with another bottle of water. Other diners had bread rolls and I saw ours do a tour of the restaurant before the server found out that the rolls she was carrying should come to our table. Food arrived with another server who asked if we wanted a second drink which we did but never got before we finished our meal. We didnât bother with a dessert as four loud staggering drunks arrived and were seated next to us, so we left. We got a âsorry â for the lack of second drinks when paying at the bar and were asked to identify the one who took the order but we had had so many at our table it was hard to say. A disappointing evening.

Village pub offering traditional pub food, Steak night, curry night and Sunday roastb Real ales, Beergarden
The Angel has everything, good honest food, reasonably priced. Good beer, with several real ale choices, sometimes Ghost Ship, Southwold, Timothy Taylor's and London Pride all on together! Great regular entertainment, in fact something for everyone, all run really well by Debs & Mick and their lovely staff, who listen to what people want and deliver! Thank you for coming to Glemsford and breathing life back into the community! (They also have a defibrillator on the premises.)

We stayed at the Bull Hotel, overnight 31st July/1st August. We stayed in The Melford Suite. The premises have the appearance of an old coach house. Very comfortable room. Equipped with tv and a large wardrobe.Evening meal was not included in the room price but breakfast was. Both meals were very tasty and good size. Good value stay

We are a traditional village pub serving home cooked, fresh food at lunch and dinner seven days a week as well as stone baked pizza in the evenings and on Saturday. Our bar is dog friendly and we have a fantastic beer garden with a small fenced off play a
Having read the reviews we went to The Hare with high expectations and we were not disappointed. After a very warm welcome we sat down to eat lunch. My slow cooked skirt of beef was some of the best that I have tasted. My partner's belly of pork was equally good. The pub has a very pleasant and warm atmosphere, the staff are polite and helpful and obviously the chef and kitchen staff know what they are doing.

Arrived and got drinks at the bar, dont really like the queuing system used here.Found a table that wasn't reserved for 4 hours later, rejoined the queue at the bar to order the food.Food wasnt up to the standard expected, lasagne was scorching hot around the edge but barely Luke warm in the middle. Fish was a child size portion that had lost all its crispness and was very substandard.Staff weren't very attentive, we wont be returning.Hi there, sorry to hear you were not happy with your meal today. If you would like to talk about it in more detail please feel free to give us a call or pop in and speak to one of the pub leadership team. Hope to see you for a better experience soon!Stevie and the team.

My partner and I stopped here for lunch on Sunday after visiting the lovely town of Long Melford. The restaurant and garden were fairly busy but not completely full so we walked through the garden and then in to the bar looking for a table, we eventually picked a table in the garden. I specifically looked for the table number after over hearing a member of staff asking a couple ordering what their table number was but our table, and the ones around it, didn't have one. I walked through an open door back towards the bar to get some menus and it was at this point I was stopped by another member of staff and told to "stop using that door as it was unfair to diners" who were sat in what looked like the conservatory, I explained that we were sat in the garden and I was just getting a menu and she said it didn't matter I had to use the door at the end of the building. My partner and I chose not to eat here as we felt unwelcome. Avoid.
