Reviews on Pub food in Kilkenny, Province of Leinster, Ireland. Kilkenny is over 400 years old, but it sure doesn’t show its age. Yes, it's an awe-inspiring throng of medieval cathedrals, castles, abbeys and other massive stone buildings, but Kilkenny loves to party. An endless stream of arts festivals celebrating theater, comedy, bluegrass and dance is constantly pumping the city with new life, toe-tapping energy and international flavor.

Medieaval building in the heart of Kilkenny dating back to 1324. Once home to Dame Alice Kyteler tried for witchcraft. Kytelers Inn is NOT a restaurant but a Pub - which is our main business. Yes we also serve bar food. There are three floors with four bar
Kyteler's Inn was recommended as a definite dinner spot when in Kilkenny. The atmosphere and charm make an evening there very enjoyable. The traditional Irish music was fun and pleasant. The food and service were average (sorry!). It is not a place you go to for an excellent meal, just a good one. Nonetheless, we would definitely return to spend another evening at Kyteler's if we are ever in Kilkenny again. It truly is a lovely place. The story of the original owners of Kyteler's is fascinating, and one that we learned in greater detail when touring the Medieval Mile Museum just down the street (another great spot in Kilkenny).

Four of us were in Kilkenny for the weekend and we ate brunch & lunch here on Saturday & Sunday. The Food was fabulous & generous portions (try the Classic Club). Timea and the other staff were really efficient & friendly. Had to sneak back later for a Lemon Meringue Pie & coffee. Will be back again in the Autumn!! Thank You.

We were told of the 3 pubs next to each other...the black one (dark inside, sticky floors and pool tables), the red one (John Cleereâs) and the blue one (some young folks with craft beer and new ideas), from another publican down the street. Large establishment typical pub. Didnât partake of their food, but folks next to us did, heavy on the bread with the stew inside. service at the bar.

Thatâs what my youngest said after a recent visit here to eat. Iâve been going for last 30years on and off and Iâve never been disappointed. Over the last year Iâve been bringing my kids to various restaurants in Kilkenny and they all settle on here. In fact, my youngest insisted on having his confirmation party there in May 2019. If you want good solid food, great service, fab surroundings then donât pass this place. I live in Kilkenny. And itâs THE place for discos in Kilkenny too

Our group came here after a very long day of exploring the Wicklow & Kilkenny area. This may have been one of my favorite restaurants of the trip. The service was amazing. I believe it was the owner who kept us laughing all night. Most of us ordered the fish & chips, seafood chowder and cottage pie. My fish & chips was the best I have ever had. The fish was delicious and flaky and needed no tartar sauce. I also loved their mushy peas. This place has a great value when it comes to the pricing of food and the atmosphere. Unfortunately we did not get to stay for the live music but I am sure that it would be a great time.Hi egwanderlust,Thank you for your lovely review & we are delighted that you & your group enjoyed your evening here in Lanigans bar. I will pass on your lovely comments to all the staff. Maybe next time you will be able to stay for the live music & our Irish dancing show. We hope to see you all in Lanigans bar again in the future

I tell everyone that a person hasn't lived until they've experience an Irish pub. I've been to others, but this was tops. We chose it mainly because the music started earlier there than in other places. We'd already eaten, so we just had drinks but there was a lovely large dining room in the back. The performers were top notch, the service was friendly, and itwas a nice mixed crowd. I highly recommend it!

We were tired, it started to rain and it was 3:30 so we slipped in and decided an early dinner would work.Their lunch menu was reasonable so we ordered. I ordered the roasted chicken which was but just barely roasted. It came with a very nice jus and Caesar salad.Mar didnât fare as well, ordering a wrap made with pork that was very tough and had a taste she did not enjoy. No one offered to remove or replace it. We finally ordered a salad so she stuck with that. The home run was a dessert of a pastry âboxâ filled with a Carmel, then a dark chocolate topped with chocolate mousse. The plate was beautifully garnished and included a scoop OF VANILLA ICE CREAM. HEAVEN FOLKS!Service was slow. They were setting up for dinner but we still felt underserved.Thank you for sharing your feedback. I apologise that we did not exceed your expectations and you weren't offered to replace your dish. I was glad to read that you were impressed with Chocolate Mousse & Toffee Tartlet. Your comment about food was brought to management's and chef's attention to ensure and maintain the standards. We hope we'll be seeing you again sometime in the near future! Kind regards, Left Bank Staff
