This used to be George Street Grocery.
We were on our way to Memphis and stayed in Jackson on the way. We dropped into this bar for lunch and a few drinks. The food was good and the beer was perfect. Most of all the staff were super friendly especially the owner Jason who gave us such well worthy tips about the area. He was so friendly he gave me a tour of the refurbishment work he was doing on his bar. A total gentleman!!

Great bar food, large portions and very tasty, all to a reasonable price. A good drink selection and very serviceminded (and good looking) waitresses. Great music and plenty of large screen tvâs to watch your favorite game. Came here twice and it was great, go there, have fun and enjoy.

We went there for dinner and to listen to some music and a good time was had by all. The service was very good and friendly and the food was excellent. It's a very relaxing atmosphere and a great place to be with friends or make new ones.
Whether you want the calm cool and relaxed atmosphere or the hang out club spot, Johnny Ts has got you covered. This two story new establishment is the hot spot for locals. Cool chef that talks to his guest, knowledgeable bar tender and great scenery and hot spot outside. Top shelf drinks at the bar and great meals to choose from. Will be back

Heard this was the place to go. Took shuttle from the hotel. On Thurs. night they featured female singers. The singer was great. Would have loved to have a blues group - but still enjoyed the music. Ordered several appetizers - very good. Would highly recommend.

Downtown for a car show a few blocks away. Though we would try new lunch offerings for Saturday that were being advertised. Been years since either myself or date had visited this stable haunt of downtown. We greatly enjoyed ourselves. Still a true locals type of place. Food was great, service friendly and warm. Both the BLT and hamburger steak were great. Paired with an ice cold beer, puts this on our do it again list.

Met a friend for lunch here while traveling and was quite impressed with the food, service, and atmosphere. There 's something special about being served on your "grandmother's china". The food was excellent--I'm quite critical of others' pimento cheese--so when I say theirs was exceptional, I mean it! Also, the tater tot appetizer was something to behold. This is a place for all ages!

Got in after 9PM, tired and wandered in for a snack and really enjoyed the food and the scene. The staff was professional and attentive. Food was fresh, well prepared and presented. Could not have been any better. Patrons were friendly and a lot seemed to be local. Good way to avoid going out and still get a good meal. Other customers near by had shrimp sandwich and what looked like mac and cheese and each seemed to enjoy their food. The barmaid mentioned she had been there 7 years and looked like a real pro in mixing cocktails. There was a crowd on the outside patio adjacent to the bar that seemed to very friendly.

Chris and Staff make Thanksgiving Celebrations excellent, so we join the crowd (larger every year) of people that have found our how great an idea this really is! Besides the original Building, Scrooge's has Ebenezer's next door for overflow and larger groups! Even with dozens of tables, I would suggest that you get there before noon because it fills up fast. Here, at The Bulldog, WE LOVE BEER! With Jackson's largest selection of 62 mainly local and craft beers on tap and 75+ in bottles, our friendly staff will take you on a beer-venture to find your favorites. We offer a fully stocked bar and an extensive foo
They have many beers on tap, I know they advertise that they know how to keep it fresh. Iâm not convinced, my wife ordered a Voo Doo Ranger that was perfect. I wanted to try something new so l ordered a Hop Fiasco, came out flat, no head, flavor was awful. Service was good, food was very acceptable, we enjoyed the Mahi Mahi and the classic burger.
