Things to do in Holyhead
We stopped for a drink at the Britannia aka The Branch and the staff were lovely. Pat, the landlady was amusing and together with some locals kept us entertained. She recommended an eatery nearby and even phoned ahead to say that we were coming over. A great start to our evening

Visited here twice and love the views Th smell of drains hits you when you walk in and is quite strong in the ladies toilets But for the views when sat outside it doesn't bother us, few locals at the bar who were very friendly Lager is well chilled however first time my glass had mould round the bottom and up the side.i did mention this when we took the glasses back and was very surprised when we went in again my glass had mould in the bottom again put us off going again sadly

We were in search of a lovely pub for a bite to eat while shaking off jet lag before a hike. How fortunate to find The White Eagles. The staff was so pleasant and attentive, even as the restarted to fill up.Arry, Kathryn, and Ade were the best! Thoroughly enjoyed the pâté and a scrumptious steak and ale pie.In addition, the view is incredible.Hi Janet. We to are glad you found us and thank you for sharing your experience. Glad to hear the Pie and pate were to your liking and I will certainly pass on your comments to the team. Hope you will visit us again when next in the area .

When I first walked in and everyone looked at me I was a little unsure. But once I got to the bar it seemed ok although needs a bot of a paint job. Beer was cheap enough and quite amusing to hear a old guy arguing behind me about his friend sitting to close this however seemed to worry the very young looking girl behind the bar who maybe should have had a little more help. She seemed to handle it well as I walked out to Enjoy my beer outside. In all the beer was good though and the people in there where present apart from the moody old guy who walked off in a huff as I enjoyed my beer Hi not sure what you meN about paint the pub had just had a refurb the old man is will who suffers from dementia so sorry about him but he's totally harmless and Lucy behind bar is quite capable especially when we are only upstairs hope to see you again x

Went here with family i wasn't peckish so i only went for starter. It was an ok starter but overpriced for the quantity. Other members of the family went the whole hog. Omg mixed grill at ridiculous price was tiny and small amount of each meats. Avoid and go to kfc much better quality. We are sorry if you thought our 30oz mixed grill was small if you would like to contact me at the Standing Stones to discuss your review futher then please do so

Took the train from Crewe on our way to Ireland, overnight here at Holyhead. We gathered our bags and headed to our hotel for the night - 'The 'Edinburgh Castle Hotel' which is almost right across the road from the Station. It wasn't a direct route, we could see the hotel, but we had to negotiate a lot of lanes of cars coming and going to the port and ferries. The hotel is actually a small pub, it wasn't easy to find the entrance but we eventually found it through the car park (which was all dug up for new construction). Inside the pub, it was quite dark and there were a number of locals already into their pints. We were in Room 1, up a steep staircase, it was right above the front of the pub overlooking the port, she arranged for us to have an early breakfast tomorrow at 7am as we want to be over at the port at about 7:30am as 'check-in' starts at 7:45. Room 1 is a small room with 2 single beds and a small 'en suite' with a sink, toilet and shower. It is cosy and clean (we had no cat to swing to check the room size, but it is quite small). Only real issue was, while the bathroom had all shiny chrome tapware, the knobs themselves were all cheap plastic that sounded and felt like they would break whenever you used them.

Great bar / restaurant great to have a catch up and the drinks flowed.Watched the rugby sadly for the locals wales got beat by Ireland. Then to my pleasure my team Liverpool beat burley 0:3 at burnley, great banter with the local Liverpool fans , lots of singing and dancing when the goals went in,Very popular bar with the locals and holiday visitors.A big shout out to the staff, it helps if the head barman is also a âwelsh redâ.Great location with stunning views. In Madrid we won it times.

Came to Holyhead for the weekend and was fortunate enough to come across The Stanley Arms whilst looking for somewhere to eat, the mixed grill was the best I've had, all locally sourced meat and cooked to perfection, two meals for £20 might sound too good to be true but this food was excellent, nice ambiance and the staff really helpful and friendly.

Quiet family bar/bistro offering home-cooked meals at a reasonable price. Plenty of out door seating, 10 minute walk to the beach. Situated in the wilds, very relaxed & family run.
This place is a real gem. The food was amazing, the people are really lovely, and the setting and décor is really quirky. Both my husband and I enjoyed the Vegetable Curry, and the banana dessert is to die for.Note that this is not signposted on the main road so look out for the sign for the outdoor pursuits. This is the turn off you need to get to this lovely place. It was the best part of staying in Holyhead.

Our family of eight popped in here for lunch on Googleâs recommendation and we were not disappointed! The menu was great - fantastic options and something fir everyone. No childrenâs menu which is fine if your children eat and enjoy proper food. The pulled pork toastie and halloumi burger were lovely! Only draw back was we were greeted with âweâre closing in one hourâ which made things a bit rushed. Evening menu looked awesome too!
