The beer here is awesome. But unlike some other taprooms I've been to, this one is bright, airey and clean. They have nice tables and stools to sit at and visit with your guests. The refurbished factories are fun too, but they're usually dark and the cement floors are wet with spilt beer. This place is our "go to" spot to meet our adult children and catch up. The food is basic chips +. Outer Light is well worth a visit.

My wife and I stopped in during an overnight stay in Mystic. I chose this restaurant based on the TripAdvisor reviews. This place is centrally located in downtown Mystic. It was a busy Saturday night, so it took about 30 minutes to get a table. The restaurant is clean and tastefully decorated. The manager was great. He was personable and professional. The server (Keely?) was very friendly, knew the menu, and was very efficient with her service. We ordered the clam chowder, fish n chips, and the Black fish special. All the food was tasty, but the chowder was one of the best I ever had (and I grew up in Massachusetts and vacation every year in Maine). The chowder was thick and well seasoned. I will return to the Mariner the next time Iâm in the area. We're so glad you enjoyed everything at The Mariner. We're pretty proud of our clam chowder here. Hope to see you again very soon!

Classic dining, with a twist. French and New American cuisine, signature deserts, Sunday champagne brunch, special events, and more!
Bank Street near the New London waterfront has become quite the bar and foodie destination in Southeastern Connecticut. Having read great reviews of 385 Bank I bought an email discount deal for the place, knowing I would use it on one of my jaunts between Connecticut and Cape Cod. I sat at one end of the fairly small bar that was mostly occupied by patrons of a "girls' night out." There was my entertainment. While I quietly listened to their boisterous laughs over some risque board games they had played, I relaxed with a couple of 365 Negronis made to perfection by Robin, the fun and friendly bartender. For food I started with a bowl of their lobster bisque that, to my mind, needed nothing extra. It was perfectly seasoned with small but plentiful chunks of lobster. Then came my main course: a generous serving of cioppino. Mussels, shrimp and scallops adorned a plate of fettuccine with a spicy but not overpowering marinara sauce. One of the woman patrons took time out from her laugh-fest to drool at my entree from afar. If you want a bar with quality food, a fun crowd and a skilled bartender who sets a delightfully comfortable atmosphere, try this place. I'll be back.

We went to Dev's for tapas on Valentines Day. The food is incredible and the price is right! Everything we had was awesome. The ribs had a wonderful smoky flavor, the beer cheese fries tasted gourmet, the Scooter melt was delicious- it had flavors I would never expect to go together. The Red Dragon Noodle Bowl was to die for. It really stole the show. The flavors are authentic and are presented beautifully. I highly suggest the cheesesteak bruschetta also. Honestly everything we had was a home run. The decor is modern, clean, and the ambiance was comfy and upscale. The owner came to every table and chatted without being overbearing. She even gave us a hug before we left, what a sweet woman- she truly enhanced our visit. This really is a hidden gem in New London, and I can't wait to go back this weekend for brunch.

We like this place in general. We have gone several times to hear live music on the weekends and to order drinks. I think is a well-managed, spacious, and reliable part of the New London scene. Most recently we went for a celebration dinner. We ordered 2 seafood entrees- a sampler platter and snapper. They were good, but we both felt they were a bit overly seasoned and cooked with too much butter. I mean, butter makes food taste delicious, but in this case it seemed like too much of a good thing. Most people say you can't go wrong with their pizzas. I will go back, and I do recommend it.

Hot Rod Cafe is a fun and friendly neighborhood bar and restaurant featuring 24 kinds of beer on tap and 24 kinds of wings. Great water view and service!
I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at Hot Rod. Nothing to look at from the outside but cozy inside and a wonderful outdoor deck with water views. All three of us tatted our meals as very good. Reasonable prices, great service, good variety. My friend always finds it hard to get Prosecco but they had it. My rose wine frozen slush is was outstanding. The chicken wings were amazing with 20+ sauces from which to choose. Their wraps also were very good. The only down side is on street parking and finding a space can be a challengeonwhen you go.
