Find out what Pub restaurants to try in Gettysburg. Gettysburg is steeped in the history of the Civil War. In 1863, it was the site of the epic Battle of Gettysburg, in which some 50,000 soldiers were killed. It is also, of course, the place where Abraham Lincoln delivered the immortal Gettysburg Address. The town itself is made up of houses, hotels and taverns dating back several centuries, but Gettysburg offers more modern travel and leisure activities, as well, like wine tastings, orchard tours, shopping and golfing.

I found Fourscore Beer to an excellent place to eat and drink. Their food is quite good, my two friends stated that their food were quite good so there is an census. I find their wheat beer to be massive improvement over Applachian Brewing. We ate here twice and enjoyed both food and beer. The service was quite good and their restroom were clean. The restaurant is bit off the beaten track but still within easy walking distance from the Best Western I was staying at. Among of three of us, we had no complaint.

So happy to have found this little gem in Gettysburg. I have been to the Pointe Pub twice and both times the food was excellent. We got appetizers the first time round and the beef crostini was the crowd pleaser! The cheese plate came in for a close second. The second time we got the margherita pizza, and the pointe pub burger. Everything was excellent. It's in the downstairs of the Federal Point Inn, and it's a tiny little bar/dining area. The servers are very friendly.

We visited The Livery in early evening. Our waitress Jade was friendly and attentive and our burgers were cooked to order and good. Bathrooms were not well maintained, so 3 stars.

Both craft brews and artisanal spirits are produced at Battlefield Brew Works/Spirits of Gettysburg, making them the first combination brewery and distillery in Pennsylvania. Passion and creativity are found in every product. At Battlefield Brew Works, it
They have a great old, historic building for their location. The guys working were friendly and fast. I did go mainly for the beer, which was above average but a couple needed a little more flavor. We sampled a couple spirits which were really good. Our food could have been hotter. Overall, we'd go back. Please come back and visit again....we are constantly improving the beer and our food, which is not us, but catered, is also on an improvement trail. I am glad the spirits were really good.

It was recommended to us by friends to have dinner at the Gettysburger, which we opted to do on a Sunday evening. The service was a bit slow, but it didn't appear to be our server's fault; she appeared to be covering more tables than normal. The burgers, when they finally arrived 45 minutes after sitting down, were alright. They had potential - but were a bit overdone and were clearly sitting for a few minutes before being served. I see most of the reviews here paint a much better picture, and I'd be willing to try eating here again, but our initial visit was less than ideal.

We enjoyed lunch in the pub in Gettysburg which is right on the main square. Service is friendly and efficient with many choices on the menu. My wife had a chicken sandwich and I had a Greek salad with chicken. Both were good but portions were huge and we couldnât take the leftovers as we were on the road. Coffee was good. They have a large dining room upstairs with many interesting pictures the owner had taken of her grandchildren.

We had a terrific server, Claudia, and a mediocre dinner at this restaurant. We chose the Italian Philly Cheesesteak. It was sitting in watery marinara sauce. The sauce was entirely too sweet. Not a marinara sauce at all. The bottom of the sandwich bread was too wet to pick up. This experience would have been rated one star if not for the efficient, friendly, and courteous attitude of our server.

Typical-looking bar and grill joint but the food was not typical. Â Very good prices and great selection of burgers, sandwiches, and wings. Â I ordered 6 wings with bourbon BBQ sauce and they were just decent, but not outstanding by any means. The chili was surprisingly excellent, as I find it difficult to find really good chili. Â Perfect blend of heat and sweet with generous meat and ingredients. The crab cake sandwich was just average with a good amount of crab meat but it was lacking in flavor. Â The sweet potato fries were wonderful, though, very crisp and tasty, not greasy at all. Overall, we were very impressed for a place with a small bar atmosphere to have food decent enough to want to make a return visit.

A walk back in history in a very warm, atmospheric setting--definitely one of my favorites. The food is thoroughly amazing and authentic. The decor, dishes, and hospitality is true to the beginning of the Colonial era. Service is always nothing less than perfection. There was a significant wait so plan ahead allowing extra time. You can always have a cocktail and snuggle up by one of the cozy fireplaces with your guests while waiting. It is absolutely worth it. All of the dishes are two-thumbs up! If you're coming with a large group it is best to make a reservation. It is a rather small place downstairs and can get a bit crowded. Event hall and lodging are upstairs which I also highly recommend. Again, the servers are well trained and you will want for nothing. They keep on top of everything in their period clothing that makes it even more special.
Where to eat American food in Gettysburg: The Best Restaurants and Bars

Gettysburg's only Irish-owned and operated pub offers a genuine taste of Ireland through "Ceol, cainte agus craic" Music, talk & fun. Open 7 days for lunch & dinner, The Garryowen, or "The GO" as it's know to our regulars, is as inviting as any pub found
Based on recommendations, we stopped in for dinner. We did not have reservations so we did have a wait which was okay-we went to the bar for some Irish brews. The place was quite busy and the bartender had a lot to do. In addition to serving drinks, he also took food orders for those who were not eating in the dining room proper. So it was awhile before he took our drink order but he did acknowledge us. After about 1/2 hour wait, we were taken to our table. By this time, the dining room was full, so I was not happy that our table was near the kitchen and beside the band equipment. Our server was adequate- not very friendly but she had probably been there for awhile. My husband ordered the fish and chips and he was very happy with it. I ordered the Guinness stew and though it was very tasty, there were way more carrots than meat. The soda bread (not potatoes) that accompanied the stew was good. The decor and atmosphere make you feel like you could be in Ireland, but I was disappointed with the staff and my meal.
