If you go into this place with a suit on, you might get beaten up. If you want cheap beer, no food, smoking allowed, a very low income clientele (not that there is anything wrong with that), a pool table, and a juke box, then this bar is for you!

Since 1735, the Buckeye Tavern, located in Macungie, PA, has been a local landmark, serving the finest in tavern food and libations to generations of regular patrons and out-of-town guests. Opened as an inn and hotel in 1735 and operating through the late
Late afternoon/early evening dinner. Place impressively busy for a Monday, noting of course that part of this likely has to do with numerous restaurants closed on that day. My friend ordered a draft beer, asked numerous questions of the server, who was knowledgeable and clear about the offerings. Needed to make my own iced tea because theirs is not fresh brewed. Accommodated graciously by server who was personable and very much tuned-in and helpful - brought hot tea, lemons and a glass of ice. Both my friend and I ordered hamburgers medium rare and while they were delivered timely and hot, they were at best medium, bordering on medium well. Still they had some pink left and were tasty and we found them acceptable. Steak fries and sweet potato fries were standard fare.Banana cheesecake was quite good for dessert.Value, defined as the quality of the entire experience compared to price of same, was reasonable.Overall vibe was friendly, loose, and much befitting an easy-going establishment. Very comfortable place to be.I would suggest to the restaurant that they: 1) have the server ensure that the meats are done as ordered before departing the table, 2) change to fresh brewed iced tea, 3) switch to fresh cut french fries rather than frozen.I recognize that this restaurant emphasizes its tavern roots with its selection of beers, craft and otherwise. This it does well.I'd return, and I'd be more specific about my preferences. Based upon my experience there, I believe they would respond professionally.

I like the atmosphere--old building, mezzanine seating, interesting bar with hi-def screens. The music was chosen by wi-fi juke box request (Hotbox?) which I really liked. I had ribs, my wife had the meatloaf sandwich; both were very good. The service was friendly and efficient...I would definitely go back.

We went on their website to check their menu out and right away we were so excited to go try it out!! We get there and we are given the menu and it looked nothing like online..service was poor server keep going back and forth to get answers for us which means she had no clue about the food ..I paid 28 dollars for a small plate of pasta with shrimp and clams that were not even mixed with the sauce they looked microwaved..the salad was iceberg lettuce with so much dressing it was impossible to eat..on the website they mention how they bake their desserts onsite well that was a lie!! Not a good experience at all none of us were happy with the service and especially with food at all..overpriced and I think as much as I dislike olive garden I probably would have gotten better food there..so disappointed..Somehow Trip Advisor has another restaurant's menu online. Our website address is correct and we have our menu on our website. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I am trying to fix that error. We are sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with your meal. Obviously you had a new server and I apologize for the issues you had. I can assure you nothing was microwaved. We hope you will try us again. Thank you for your review.

We had lots of fun here. Prices are great, plenty of TV's, separate smoking room & great service. Food is very typical bar food.

Went with a group of 5 other retirees to The Barn on a Tuesday night. The Barn has a nice selection of bar food: appetizers, sandwiches, salads, soup; and a broad selection of beers. Their recipes are all somewhat unique so youâre not getting ordinary chain restaurant taste. I had the Bacon & Cheddar Grilled Cheese (caramelized onion, tomato, mayo), and it was excellent. The others seemed to enjoy their choices. I selected the Smoked Baked Potato as my side. It was okay, not outstanding by my standards. Still, a very nice evening. We were all too full for desert. Our young lady server was perfect.
