Sauce was warm & my salad was placed in the centre of the plate so it was nicely wilted!! & surrounded by warm sauce. Expensive for what I got. Nice bar for a deink

Where to begin? Lunch at Kilshanny House was an overall wonderful experience. The place is gorgeous - the perfect blend of classic pub and someoneâs living/dining room. It felt cozy and homey. I wanted to move in there. They offer the standard Guinness and Smithwicks along with local craft ales. For lunch, they had two options ready: cottage pie (like shepherds pie but with beef) and a seafood chowder. The bread is homemade and fresh. The cottage pie blew me away - earthy without being heavy and I could tell the herbs used were fresh fresh fresh. Mary, the chef, recommended that we save the bread to mop up the pie and Iâm glad I took that advice. We decided we had to try the dessert and ordered an apple blackberry crumble and the Guinness cake. Blackberries are in season, and you could tell. The crumble was just sweet enough and the custard topping was delicious. The cakes was wonderful too - somehow light and rich at the same time. It came with fresh whipped cream. Mary came out and chatted with us for a while and sheâs lovely. I wanted her to be my friend! I really hope I can come back here someday and visit Kilshanny House again. Until then, Iâll just wish I was there. Thanks so much for your comprehensive and complimentary review and photos which we very much appreciate. It was indeed our privilege and pleasure having you and your family in Kilshanny House and glad that it was such a good experience for you.We would be more than delighted to see you all again if and when you get to come again, let me know and I will have the kettle down and some home baked seasonal treats for you.Slán gó fóil,

McGann's which has a higher rating than McDermott's was closed, so we went to McDermott's. We are glad we did! It was great! The atmosphere is pure Irish, the food was excellent, the beer cold and the staff friendly. I had the duck, which was maybe the best meal I've had in Ireland, and my wife had the prawns, which she also thought was outstanding. We sipped on a few beers until the entertainment started at 9:00. They were good as well and capped off a terrific evening.A very good spot!

Four of us ate here on Saturday 24th August for lunch we were greeted by the bar lady who gave us menus and explained about the specials she was lovely very friendly and helpful a younger girl came to take our order and was very pleasant too. The food was delicious very fresh hot and tasty very reasonably priced too. It was very busy but had no problem making us fabulous baileys coffees after we ate. We went up to the counter to pay and chatted the bar lady again who told us all about the charity biker festival that was on for cancer and about the September festival and local sites. She seemed busy they both did but still took time to chat. Very welcoming place very clean and great food. 10 out of 10 in all areas especially staff. We will be back sometime to check out all the sites of Clare.Hi Tigue35,thanks for taking the time to leave us the lovely review.
