We have started going for a couple of pints in the evenings before a meal out recently having heard only great things. We've not been disappointed yet. A small but friendly 'micro' pub with a great choice of bitters and ciders as well as spirits, soft drinks and wines so no one is excluded.Managed to get a chance for a lunchtime pint and have something to eat. Was very quiet on a Thursday lunchtime but not sure if this is the norm. We had the scotch egg, pork pie and cheese board between 2. It was nicely presented and more than enough for us - although we didn't leave anything! Good tasty cheeses (5) and a rustic pork pie rather then the usual you get in the shops. Scotch egg was delicious, not too herby as often is the case. We're converts and if you like it simple but good, great beers and ciders - you should try it.

Family friendly pub with restaurant seating area. Large outdoor area for children. Dog friendly. Everyone welcome! Mother and daughter have just taken over.
What a lovely village pub. The team that worked here were so friendly and so were the clientele. The menu was not extraordinary, plain simple cooking and it was just what I wanted. I had the fiery chicken wings, ham and cheese smelters and treacle sponge for desert. Great price, great device. I liked this place and I will visit againThank you

Visiting the New Inn with its open fires and canal side presence really takes you back into the history of the early introduction of the canal and the roman road which is now the busy A5. Open fires, romantic setting, Large canal side garden and period fe
Called without a reservation for a Sunday roast. It was ok, nothing flash. Piping hot & pleasantly presented. And to be fair, pricing is very reasonable. Service was speedy & friendly enough, you order at the bar. Itâs an old fashioned, no frills pub close to the canal. Surprisingly decent wine by the glass.Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are glad you had a good time. Our Sunday Lunch is very popular and always sell out pretty fast!

We have spent many happy holidays in Portugal so to have an authentic Portuguese restaurant on the doorstep is an absolute bonus. The food is well presented, delicious and the genuine article. Squid is a family favourite, the rice dish is also yummy. If I could find any faults I would say that the service is slow and itâs rather expensive but I will be going back ASAP.

A small village pub with restaurant attached and a pretty garden with children's play area.We were made very welcome when we visited and on the Saturday night there was a barbecue in the garden which was very nice. They don't serve food every day and they do close early on Sundays.

There's always a friendly welcome at our uniquely traditional village pub. We offer homemade quality food, cocktails and cask ales. Stone-baked Pizza on Sunday nights, a buzzing quiz night and open mic music scene add to the atmosphere. No screens and no
Me and my husband were staying in the beautiful village of Badby over the Bank Holiday weekend and visited this pub all 4 nights we were there. I have to say this has got to be the most friendly pub we have ever been in. All the staff and the locals were friendly and chatty, and made us feel welcome from the first time we stepped inside their pub. Their food was freshly cooked and delicious, especially the fillet steak and home cooked chips!! Drinks were very good too, tried quite a few of the flavoured gins, and all were made to perfection. I would highly recommend this pub to anyone staying in the area or just passing through - you're sure to get a warm welcome!

Visited here as was near Fawsley Hall, so popped in for Sunday lunch. The roast beef was amazing. Was one of the best Sunday roasts Iâve ever had. We had starters and desserts too which were fab. Reasonable prices. Friendly staff. Have rebooked for December!

Our delightful 19th-century inn has been refurbished with lots of TLC to provide our guests with a comfortable, relaxed and friendly place to eat and drink. The bar is the perfect spot to grab an after-work drink or to enjoy a few pints or g&t's with frie
We enjoyed the two course set menu and have nothing but praise for our choices.Starters were good and we were even envious of those who opted for the curried cauliflower soup in July, but mains were even better. The chicken supreme was a generous portion, beautifully cooked but the vegetables really made the dish. The fish pie too was a great success and really arrived piping hot.Desserts looked good but we would have required much bigger appetites.

There has been a public house on the site of The Bowling Green dating back to 1520. The original building was destroyed in a major fire in 1741 that accounted for many of the buildings on Coventry Street. The current Bowling Green pub was rebuilt in 1750
We ate here on a Wednesday evening as a table of 4. We had booked a table but unfortunately the staff were preoccupied with serving drinkers/diners sitting in the garden. The service was incredibly bad - ages to take order (20 minutes), ages for food to arrive (45 minutes), forgetting to bring steak knife for steak (despite being asked twice) no table check, no sauces (the waiter forgot) no drinks order taken after drinks finished. The food was average. The chicken Caesar salad was as far removed from a Caesar salad as you can get (who has ever heard of onions, peppers and a poached egg on a Caesar salad?). The steak was very tough and the gammon was thin and grey. As no steak knife arrived the steak was inedible. We couldn't tell the waiting staff as they had vanished! The fish and chips was good however. This was a birthday meal and we were all left disappointed. For local pub grub this place isn't cheap and did not live up to expectations.
