This bar can be a neat place to hang. They have pool that's 50¢ music, sometimes live music. The first Wednesday of every month during riding season is Bike Night (motorcycles, all makes & models welcome) quick is neat. Unfortunately the food can be REALLY hit or miss. The burgers are pretty good usually. Last time I went, my fries that are normally really good were half raw. Pretty nasty. They use to have AMAZING chicken strips, but have since changed them. NOW they are like Tyson frozen sponge like junk =( the old ones were a thin batter, with a slight spice. Wish they'd bring them back. The loaded natchos are good too. The bartenders are nice. Drinks are good too. Average bar prices & specials.

I stopped in to check the place out, once I was able to find it. It's situated behind the transit station.I ordered an IPA and sat down to watch a little football. The clientele seemed to be mostly retirees and their dogs. The interior was hard surfaces which seemed to amplify noise. Minimal menu. The beer was fine. I think that I would be more inclined to have a beer here than most of the other options in town.Thank you for your review! We are working hard on adding to our signage to direct people to the location. We apologize it was so difficult! Cheers!

Growing up here, this was considered to be a 'locals only' tap...and much to our surprise upon visiting this summer - it still is. Complete with the original cement floor and bar, it definitely speaks of ghosts from the past. This is my brother's 'Office' :-) and we visited him and found a few other faces from the past. This would never be my place of choice for drink - it's basically a 'shot & a beer' place but there is something unique about going back in time. Would I go again...Heck yes!! LOL

The newest extension of the well-established Christopherâs is the charming little THE PANTRY. They serve exquisit yet affordable sandwiches, soups, and salads. The desserts are to-die-for and I had the best German plum cake outside of Germany! Everything is freshly prepared right in front of your eyes by the super friendly and welcoming owners.The wine selection is extensive with some very interesting international wines that you wonât find just anywhere. The interior is beautifully designed with much attention to detail and they have a great outside seating area.We will definitely be back!

We reserved a lunch with friends today on the open-air porch. It was a beautiful day, and the view of the bay from atop the bluff was outstanding. I ended up with a hamburger and fries that was quite good, particularly the bun, the burger and the perfectly-done fries. My companions were quite complimentary of their large and well-presented lunch salads. Unfortunately, we had come to eat mussels and clam chowder, but as we attempted to order, our server informed us that they were out of all dishes with mussels, AND the clam chowder. OK, we reassessed and ordered the Burrata; nope, that too was unavailable. This was not like we arrived at the end of lunch, we were there early, our reservation was for 11am! So, we had a nice burger and salads, but left quite disappointed in the lack of availability of the most signature parts of Captain Whidbey's menu.Thank you for sharing your experience ALFriedman, were happy too see that the burger didn't disappoint and sincerely apologize for a few of our menu items being unavailable. We had a very busy labor day weekend over the 3 days and that unfortunately found us a little short in some of the areas, I guess mussels, chowder and burrata were popular dishes this past weekend.We hope to see you again soon so you can experience both dishes. They only brew their IPA and they were out of it. They do have a good selection of local beers on tap though.The server was friendly and helpful.

Been hearing good things about this restaurant which recently changed hands. We were camping across the street at Fort Casey and walked over for lunch. What I felt upon entering is the energy and vibe the place has. Place was packed! A beautiful sunflower on every table, clothe napkins and a view of the ferry and sound enhanced the ambience. My companion ordered a burger on brioche roll ($11) which was very good. Shoe string fries came with the meal and were excellent! I really had my heart set on the wedge salad but they were out of iceburg lettuce so I ordered the ceasar salad with peppercorn dressing ($8). It was a small salad and the romaine was soggy and wilted. There wasn't a hint of a peppercorn dressing anywhere. Very disappointed. That said, the next table ordered fish and chips and it looked amazing. The specials of the day were Dungeness crab gazpacho ($15) and Salmon BLT ($17)-both looked delicisious and were popular orders with cumstomers. Will definitey be back to try out dinner and breakfast. Service was excellent and everything on the menu can be ordered to go. Hours 8 am to 8 p.m. Hope they will last after tourist season......

We drove into Coupeville specifically to eat lunch by the water. Toby's looked like a local hangout, just what we wanted. The back windows look out on the water but mostly the place is a darkish bar.We shared fish & chips and clams & chips. Both were good and portions were generous. The slaw tasted of nothing but cabbage but I didn't have room for it anyway.Service was good. Everyone was friendly.Kicked myself I didn't order mussels instead when I heard they bring them out of the water just down the road.
