We really enjoyed our evening in the conservatory, with great food and very friendly service. It's a very relaxing old style Inn and an interesting layout. Definitely worth a visit. Make sure you book a table.

The Artichoke Inn is a 12th century village inn situated in the heart of the Dartmoor National Park, in the pretty village of Christow. It is said that the name The Artichoke dates back to the time of the crusades where this site was once used as a recrui
We visited the Artichoke with our children last night. All our meals were delicious. Great food and big portions. The childrenâs menu is good and the added games to play while waiting were appreciated. The service was wonderful, very welcoming and friendly. Weâll be back again.

The Cridford Inn - the oldest pub/inn in Devon and possibly the oldest in England dates back to 825AD. It had previously served as a nunnery and a farm, being originally inhabited by the early Britons/Celts, before the building was remodelled in 1081. In
I stayed here in June 2018. Me and my mum stayed in the cottage and have a wonderful stay! The Palk Arms, A Free House Pub set high above the Teign Valley and has wonderful panoramic views over the rolling hills and beautiful countryside.
Me and my family fancied eating out tonight and decided to go somewhere different. So we hopped onto trip advisor and found the Palk Arms. Seeing the last two reviews and how one sided they were we were unsure about what to think, however we scrolled down and saw further reviews which presented the pub in a positive way, therefore we came up to give it a go.We were greeted with an attentive bar maid, who instantly showed us to our table and showed us the menu (which is written on slates) It was so busy, which was surprising for a tuesday night, as most places are dead in the week. The menu has a great variety and offers something for everyone- which was good in our case as my daughter is quite fussy! Our table had a Thai chicken curry, the haddock fishcakes and our two children had the chicken nuggets which are served with chips and beans. The food was amazing, proper pub grub! With a good price and a very good portion size, you walk away feeling full. Unfortunately we were too stuffed for desserts, however the desserts that were served to tables next to us looked gorgeous, and seemed to be enjoyed. All in all the whole experience was great and we will be reccommending this place to all of our friends and family! We will continue to show support to this pub, as you are made to feel so welcome. Fair play to the Landlord and Landlady as they seem to have a great pub with great locals.

I have previously reviewed this place and was unhappy with the staff, I am happy to report that on Monday 22nd of July there was a very nice, friendly lady behind the bar. So it is a nice pub with nice staff. (at least on Mondays)

Where to eat Bar food in Chudleigh: The Best Restaurants and Bars

We were staying in a nearby hotel and were out for a walk with the dog. We stopped in here for a drink. There is a restaurant and bar both of which looked nice and inviting. If we were here for longer we would definitely give the food a try. As it was we had some drinks and had a pleasant time sitting in the beer garden across the road. A nice girl came out and gave the dog a treat but didnât seem interested in enforcing their stated âdogs on leadsâ policy. There were a couple of wee yappie mongrels running loose much to everyoneâ annoyance but no one seemed to care. The drinks were on the pricey side which might explain why it was quiet on an otherwise busy with people, warm, sunny Saturday afternoon. Thanks for the review. Glad you stopped by and were able to enjoy our lovely garden on what has lately been a rare sunny afternoon. We do ask for dogs to be kept on leads in the garden and our drinks are very fairly priced we believe for location & quality. We hope you will stop by again if you are in the area.
