Reviews on Pub food in Charlottesville, Virginia, United States. The former home of three of America's founding fathers, and the current home of the University of Virginia, the city of Charlottesville, Virginia is suffused with an appreciation of history and intellectual vigor. Take a tour of the university campus and walk through grassy malls and grand buildings designed by Thomas Jefferson, or peak into the dorm room once occupied by Edgar Allen Poe. The great homes of America's early presidents, Monroe, Jefferson and Madison, are also open to the public.

Three Notchâd Brewing Company was conceived by three friends who value great beer and great times with close family and friends. Each of us have a great appreciation for individualism, respect for hard work and earning our ability to give back to our comm
Lots of beer choices, so everyone in our group was happy that they could try something new and different. The food was good, and the menu had some interesting options. Most of our group were tempted by the fish tacos, but I had a burger (which was tasty). There's outdoor seating, and also space for events in the rear (as a wedding reception seemed to be going on when we were there). Service was good, and prices were what I guess is reasonable for Charlottesville. Thanks so much for your review! So glad that you and your group were able to benefit from our chef crafted food menu. We are glad that you enjoyed your burger, as we take pride in sourcing local ingredients. We host a ton of special events, and have plenty of space indoor and outdoor to suit all needs. Please reach out directly at [email protected] if you have time to let us know how we can improve to a 5 star rating for you next visit! Cheers!!

First time visit after years of my wife asking. We have a very enjoyable evening. The waiter was very patient with us being here for the first time and very informative. It was fun cooking the food. Great selections. A little pricy but you are partially paying for the experience.

Located on the Historic Downtown Mall, Miller's Downtown resides in one of the oldest buildings on Main St. Inside, you will notice the old display shelves and prescription drawers of the 1920's pharmacy, the old tin ceiling, the dry ice freezer box once
Of the many dining options on the pedestrian mall in Charlottesville, Miller's had a varied menu with more reasonable prices. I wasn't too hungry so opted for just a beer from the good selection available. My two companions, both vegetarians, selected from the vegan choices available. They gave both the vegan Beyond Burger and the No Bull Burger each 5 stars, but rated the chips nothing special. Miller's is in a good location and the service was very good.

Funky, casual diner serving all-day breakfast & regional American fare, with weeknight live music.
Indeed, Blue Moon was closed for a while but now reopened to same breakfasts of 3 eggs classic with cheese and country fried potatoes. Serve is also classic Charlottesville- at their own pace. Don't expect the fluffy eggs, or the lightly browned potatoes. That's not why you came. The old style diner atmosphere indeed Egg burito for partner and coffee and we escaped for $30.

Cute concept of self serve beer. Love the idea of not having to wait to be served. Started off with a beer we love, so there was no trying needed. Beer was off, despite being poured by someone that knows how, there was a ton of foam, and it tasted watery. Disappointing. Tried another go to. Same. We didnât try any food, menu was limited. There are TVs, games were on, kind of a blah atmosphere. I wouldnât rush back. Great location on the downtown mall.

The Virginian has a rustic vibe with darker colors and lots of wood. It feels almost old-timey. When I walked in for lunch, I was seated almost immediately.I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich. The crispy chicken was just crunchy enough that it made for a great contrast with the soft bread while still having enough chicken to be chicken. The fries, however, were the best part. They were well seasoned and the flavor just popped. Iâd recommend stopping by for lunch if youâre in the area.

New restaurant serving nouveau Southern American cuisine and specialiizing in whiskeys at their bar.
We stopped in for a few drinks and grabbed some nachos as the bar menu was limited. The nachos would have been good if not for the processes liquid cheese they used. Bartenders were friendly and attentive. Drinks were good....not great. We came back later in the evening for after dinner drink. Pretty busy with 30-40 yr old men hitting on 20 something women. Comical and entertaining. Although a few of the young ladies didnât have a problem taking a free drink and then blowing off the men...LOL

4 STARSGreat service. Good atmosphere. TVs at the bar with sports (tennis, basketball, etc.). A huge alcohol menu - beer, wine, cocktails, etc. Plenty of parking right outside in the shopping center parking lot.We ordered the stuffed jalapenos for an appetizer and those were good - it was a bit different than your usual stuffed jalapenos - the restaurant took it up a notch. We ordered the filet mignon with sweet potato fries and garlic mashed potatoes. Those mashed potatoes are a great rival to Ruth Chris' garlic mashed potatoes. The sweet potato fries had a nice crispness to them and flavor. The steak was just OK - it was cooked perfectly but not as tender as we like and there was connective tissue which is a bit no no. The price was pretty spot on for the steak quality though, plus you got two sides. We ordered the wagyu burger to try as well with bacon on it, white american cheese, mayo and ketchup. This burger was awesome. We split it so we each could try it. We both would definitely order this burger again. It was cooked perfectly, great flavor, and crispy bacon. He ordered the Brussels sprouts to go with the burger and enjoyed those. We ordered the brownie for dessert and really enjoyed the brownie (gooey and warm as advertised), salted chocolate ganache, vanilla gelato, and whipped cream. We would order ALL of our food again except the steak. :) We would try different items next time too but definitely get the burger, brownie, and garlic potatoes.

South Street Brewery, founded in 1998 is Charlottesville's oldest brewpub and one of the cornerstones of the craft brewing movement in Virginia. Our sole focus is to create excellent beer and delicious food
Stopped in while walking around the area. Service was good. Server was very knowledgeable about the beers they serve. Enjoyed the beers and had the pretzel appetizer. It was good just not enough beer cheese dip for the size of the pretzel. Stop in and have a brew.
