A lovely old English Coach House in the picturesque village of Harbledown. Just 5 minutes drive from Canterbury City Centre, or a leisurely 15 minute walk. A village pub with a friendly, informal atmosphere serving top qualtiy food from local suppliers an
Ate here today and were bowled over with the quality of the food, excellent friendly service, and atmosphere. The starters were truly exceptional especially mentioning the Sea Food Cocktail in a yummy seafood sauce served on the freshest of young lettuce leaves dressed in a most complimentary dressing. The other two starters we had drew generous compliments. The Roast Sunday lunches were exceedingly tasty and fullsome leaving our appetites unable to cope with a dessert. Shame!A venue to regularly return to.

We used The Royal Oak when we stayed just down the road at Honey Lodge, the staff and locals are friendly and chatty, and the food, beer and wine is very good.Very clean, tastefully decorated and furnished.

Myself and work colleges visited here for lunch. And I have to be honest. And my review is for this visit. Our food was delicious. Well cooked and of good proportions. My steak and ale pie was large enough for two. But it was possibly the best pie I ever had. Full of meat. No fat no grissle. My vegetables were perfect as were my large chips just the way I like my food. Served by a very polite lady.

Visited on a Saturday lunchtime, bar side for a meal and beer, sat at high stool tables. Food lovely, plentiful, tasty and hot, fajitas really good but beware they arrived already wrapped. Cold cheese and ham platter delicious with lovely fresh bread. Pulled pork roll great and nice fries n salad etc. Staff helpful and friendly, good variety of beer and gins. Recommend a visit, especially as reasonable price for food too.

First time here but it exceeded all expectations. The steak and red wine sauce was amazing. The best ever. The freshly baked bread was superb. Wine was wonderful. Friendly service really great. Can thoroughly recommend and would definitely come again when in the area. A proper dining experience in a wonderful setting.

Enjoyed a lovely family lunch here after a trip to the nearby wildlife park. There's just something about going for a traditional lunch at a pub in the British countryside.Friendly, welcoming service. The food was very good and reasonably priced. Served in the old wood-beamed restaurant area, with it's gently sloping floor and cosy feel. the building has an interesting layout (a few steps up and down to reach the restaurant part from the bar area). The place also offers accommodation in a separate building and there is a decent amount of parking to the side and rear.Well worth a visit.

Lovely meal. Delicate flavours. Pistachio cheesecake was delicious as were the aperitifâs from the kitchen. Menu is fish heavy and I was surprised not to find a 28 day aged steak on the menu but went for the duck. The young man in the restaurant tall with blue eyes, started polishing plates in the kitchen and now front of house runs the restaurant extremely well, is attentive, polite and knowledgeable so a shout of to him as-well. The Fordwich Arms certainly lives up to expectations with lots of surprises. Loved it! The duck perhaps a blackberry, some red fruits and more fig for more flavour perhaps? All in all extremely satisfied.

We came here whilst in Canterbury for the afternoon, the weather was great and we managed to find a table in the outside terrace, note that outdoor seating is limited. I ordered Hunter's chicken and my other half had the fish finger sandwich, I was really impressed with my dish, everything was tasty and cooked fresh. My partner wasn't that impressed with his, it was quite a basic breaded fish finger in the sandwich, but this is what was advertised on the menu. Overall I would definitely recommend.

We wanted somewhere interesting to stop for lunch on our way to Sandwich. This beautiful country pub fitted the bill admirably. Traditional features from the original building have been lovingly retained and itâs now an excellent place for food and drink. A wide and interesting menu had lots of lunchtime choices - the baguettes were particularly good. Nice beer as well.

My husband and I were on holiday in Kent and visited this great friendly pub on the 30th of July 2019. We had a fabulous home cooked main meal and puddings with very friendly service from the owners. There was a lovely atmosphere which was made even better by the jazz band playing in the bar which plays on the last Tuesday of every month. This is well worth a visit! !!!!!
