Lovely little pub, spotlessly clean premises with lots of local history links and genuine old world charm. They serve real ale and the food is freshly prepared. The sunday roast was fabulous. They have an excellent food hygiene rating. Highly recommended, we will definitely be back.

We haven't eaten here before, and won't go out of our way again. We chose the Carvery, but the Menu selection might have been better. Of the Carvery's available in Burnley, this rates poorly for choice, quality, food temperature, service and surroundings, even though it had a Refurb a year ago. If you are wanting a cheap meal, I would prefer Wetherspoons, and that is not necessarily a recommendation!

Consistantly Good Food And Bar Snacks
Decided to eat here for a friends reunion get together. Ordered four meals. Three of the meals arrived at the same time; we had to wait another 5 minutes for the fourth meal to arrive - slightly disappointing. All the food was well presented and tasted good. The desserts were amazing. One couple had the desserts sharing platter, absolute dessert overload, fantastic!

Nearly always pop in here for a drink with Lucy our dog when weâre in Burnley and weâre never disappointed. Amazing selection of drinks from around the world and great basic homemade food as well. We always receive a warm welcome, especially Lucy whoâs always given treats and a drink of water. There are always a lot of off duty postal workers in there given the proximity to the sorting office. All I can say is that Iâm glad they go in after work given the super strong beers they have on offer in here or youâd never get your post!

The Kettledrum Inn was named after the Derby winning horse 'Kettledrum' in 1861. The beautiful location, friendly atmosphere and wonderfully presented food make this pub a special place to meet with family and friends.
This is a lovely little pub, with a friendly atmosphere. The food was very tasty, and there was plenty to choose from. The prices were very reasonable. Will definitely visit again. It is suitable for lunch and evening meals.

As in my previous review the food and food service were excellent.....but.....it almost seems they don't want paying. Over 20 minutes from asking for the bill to actually paying for the food. I think the management really ought to sort this out - it is totally unacceptable.Hello Hassy049Thank you for your feedback.Your concerns about the our payment system are deeply disturbing to hear, after your previous review we did some work to try to improve the system and ensure it is a efficient as possible. It appears from your feedback that this has not resolved the issue. We are very sorry that this is still the case.I would be very keen to talk with you and hear first hand the difficulties you experienced to enable us to focus on this issue, if you could call me on 01282421705 or email some contact details to [email protected] I can contact you.I am pleased to note that once again the food is excellent but appreciate that the payment issues somewhat cloud the overall experience.RegardsPatrick O'ReillyGeneral Manager

Located in Fence, a rural village situated just off the M65, between Barrowford and Burnley, the Forest has undergone an exciting refurbishment, and is now open to the public. The modern brasserie and bar is a fantastic place for diners and drinkers to en

Four of us dined here as itâs usually consistently good quality food at a reasonable price with great service. Unfortunately this time although the service was the usual good standard the food wasnât. Two of us had duck with red cabbage and dauphinoise potato. My duck was chewy and raw in the middle.... which Iâm prepared to accept as I like mine quite pink but the fat had not been rendered and the skin wasnât crispy.... in fact it was blubbery. The duck had obviously not been cooked properly and rested. The potato was not cooked through in the middle which meant I only ate the outside slices. My friend asked for a steak knife to separate the fat from the meat on her duck. Lots of waste on my plate which is a bit of a shame when you are paying for a full plate of edible food. Hopefully this was just a bad day in the kitchen. Our other two meals.... fish and chips and sea bass were fine.

The white swan at Fence is a traditional local pub that just happens to serve food, real ales & wines so fine that you will probably do a little dance of delight when you sample them. Backed by Timothy Taylors, fronted by team Turners with cellar queens L
We were coming into the area and wanted somewhere for lunch. Very glad we stumbled across the White Swan!Very relaxed, warm friendly atmosphere, with front of house staff very attentive.Attentive, but not over fussy and with time to talk to you Food? Top quality ingredients, outstandingly well cooked, good flavour combinations and beautiful presentation. Doesn't matter if you choose 2-course, 3-course or taster menu ... pricing is excellent for this quality of food ... for this quality of food its a bargain!Best prawn she'd ever tasted was a comment on our table.
