It's one of the better places to hang out in Blacksburg with an older, more mature crowd most of the time (young professionals and graduate students). The food is bar food but they have spectacular tater tots. It has a great selection of beers and some cider along with a full bar. The staff is a mixed bag - sometimes rude but sometimes really nice.

The menu is full of fun combinations of things like tater tots and BBQ and a sandwich with boneless rib, bacon, pulled pork, onion strings and cole slaw. Most things come with these fabulous hush puppies - they are done just right! The variety of BBQ sauces is good, both vinegar style and regular, although the hot is not really that hot. The servings are really good for the price and the service, when we were there for lunch, was quite good with really friendly wait staff. A fun place to eat with a really good selection of items.

In a simple part of town but dont be concerned. Food makes up for lack of nearby ambiance.Had steady business while we were there. Nice size bar-a little dark-blue isnt that a good sign? We grabbed dinner in restaurant side. Pretty darned good.Cant say enough good things about onion rings. OMG. Perfect combo of breading and onion. Cooked crispy but not burned. Yummmmmmm. Also had wings. They were okay. Mine didnt seem very well plucked but if I closed eyes and ate, they were good meal.Note there is additional parking in back. Will definitely return.

Nice location in downtown Blacksburg. We visited during the Steppin Out festival. We were seated right away but waited more than 10 minutes for first contact from wait staff. Not sure why, as the place was not busy. Nice bar and grill atmosphere. Boneless wings were good. Chicken sandwich with pineapple was tasteless and disappointing.

Thoughtful ingredients and select live music performers make the pub breakfast stand out. Breakfast menu features locally-sourced ingredients, coffee, and other beverages. I am a sucker for their scotch eggs , baked beans, breakfast casserole and more. Local music legends perform here often for "Wake Up Call"Throughout the day the Underground offers a pub menu, rails service, and darts

Came here for lunch. While this is your typical college bar, this place serves very good food with warm and friendly service. Prices are also very reasonable. I was surprised by the salad choices offered. I had a salad with feta and dried cranberries with a chardonnay vinaigrette which was delicious. The loaded fries my hubby had were hot and fresh. Great choice if you want something easy in a very casual atmosphere.

We just moved to the area and have been slowly trying each restaurant. This one has a great ambience, the family style is nice and offers plenty of food. Our son ate fried chicken for the first time here and loves it. The food is good, and the quality was the same the second time we went back. The service is standard. The biscuits and fried chicken are my favorite. We called in a reservation each time we went and they accommodated us quickly upon arrival. Hey Natasha,We appreciate the great review but unfortunately, we think you have the wrong restaurant! We hope you make it our way next time you go out though.Cheers!Jennifer

Southern comfort food and a full bar with a bourbon emphasis located in the oldest remaining house, circa 1892, on Main Street within the town's original Sixteen Squares.
Our family of three ate here on a weeknight before the university started fall session. We walked in with no reservation and we were seated immediately. We were very hungry so we chose the family style. All individuals at the table must agree to get this option or you can just order from the menu. The meats were very tasty. I enjoyed the mashed potatoes and green beans as well. Service was courteous and efficient. Would definitely return in the future.

Bull & Bones is a brewpub with both an upscale dining room and a separate sports bar with a casual dining area. We have a wood-fired grill, on-site smoker, an ice rail integrated into our granite bar, 20 HDTV's, and 7 championship pool tables!
We did not eat there, so this is solely a review of drinks at the bar. We went there on a Friday night around 9:30 pm. The place was dead. There was a lot of staff milling behind the bar but the service was slow. Lighting in the place is off - glaringly harsh at the bar and dark elsewhere. The beers were below underwhelming. I had three and only the Wit was anything approaching average. This might have been acceptable 20 years ago, but with the vast choices available in great craft beer now, it means that customers like me will not be back.We are so sorry to hear about your negative experience, and we would appreciate the chance to earn back your business. If you would please email us at [email protected] we would love the opportunity to make things right. Thank you so much.

The Cellar Restaurant and 6-Pak Beer Store is located in downtown Blacksburg Virginia directly across from Va Tech campus. We have been serving Greek and American food since 1963. Our signature dishes include homemade Meat Lasagne, Greek spaghetti, Moussa
Lunch food was quite good. Service was excellent. Upstairs indoors was a bit noisy, so we moved outside where there was a better chance to chat. Our server was accommodating. Craft beer menu is extensive. Greek chicken kabob was excellent.
