Ballyferriter (Irish: Baile an Fheirtéaraigh, meaning "Ferriter's townland", Irish pronunciation: [ˈbˠalʲənʲ ɛɾˠˈtʲeːɾˠiɡʲ] or An B[h]uailtín),), is a Gaeltacht village in County Kerry, Ireland. It is in the west of the Corca Dhuibhne (Dingle) peninsula and according to the 2002 census, about 75% of the town's population speak the Irish language on a daily basis. The village is named after the Norman-Irish Feiritéar family who settled in Ard na Caithne in the late medieval period and of whom the seventeenth-century poet and executed leader, Piaras Feiritéar, was a member. The older Irish name for the village An B[h]uailtín ("the little dairy place") is still used locally.

We were hungry around 9:30 pm, and most places donât serve food that late. We were very happy to be able to order nosh. The 9â arugula (rocket), chicken, pesto pizza was not only appreciated, but it was DELICIOUS too! Perfect size for two people in need of a late-evening snack. The harbor-front location is nice, too.

Fabulous food served here by friendly and very helpful staff. Allergies understood here. Only went in here for a drink but decided to have dinner, so pleased that we did. While I do personally prefer the white wine sauce a little more creamy and thicker, this was very tasty. We will get back here.

Dined here twice it was so nice whilst on our three night stay on the Dingle Peninsula. The service is excellent, we had a lovely friendly young red headed waitress. The food is very fresh, tasty and hearty. Both days I had fish and it was so fresh and beautifully cooked. My husband had chicken burger the first day which he enjoyed and a steak the second time which was he claimed the best steak he had in a long time. Highly recommend

1st visit with a group of friends. Food left a lot to be desired. Meat quality very very poor and small portions for the price charged. Had ran out of the chowder and a mains choice,fairly poor for a bank holiday weekend. Guinness was lovely and location great.

Great stop on the way to Slea Head - you can have your accommodation as well as central for good food also close to Dingle Village!

Stopped for drinks during our stay in Ballyferriter. We loved the traditional feel of the place, and we enjoyed listening to the locals speaking Irish Gaelic at the bar. Stepping out back we were surprised at the nooks and crannies of the unique beer garden and loved the sunset views of the mountains.

I canât recommend this bar restaurant despite the lovely location and the reasonable prices for coffee and cake. The staff were unbelievably rude and ignored us at the bar, gave monosyllabic grunts in reply to enquiries and one member of staff actually kept walking away as I was speaking to him. I wonât be visiting again!

Visited Tig An Tsaorsaigh three times last week for drinks and dinner. There is always a fabulous welcome from the owner managed family to this "proper" Irish pub. They dont promise fine dining but it is good honest food at very reasonable prices. With great pints to wash it all down, it is always a pleasure to visit. We have never stayed but talking to people who were staying there, they were very complimentary about the B&B offer too. As the signs says, Yes yes folks - what great value! :)
