Dined here last night (14/10)My partner booked us a table to celebrate my birthday, great service and delicious food, extremely tasty and piping hot.Staff sang happy birthday to me as they presented my cake which was a nice touch..So impressed with our evening we've booked to celebrate our anniversary in December, can't wait to return.

Drove out for lunch on a miserable Autumn Saturday and enjoyed an excellent hot lunch which was served on hot plates and nicely presented. We both chose the sea bass which was very well cooked as was the rest of the meal. Nice sized servings and good value for money. There was ample car parking, the service was good and the toilets had ample hot water.

I have eaten at the Old Mill on and off for many years, and under different management teams. Also, having previously worked at the establishment in the kitchen and behind the bar I had decided to revisit after a long absence. The pub's interior decor is an improvement and looks quite stylish especially in the dining area. We both ordered starters, a goat's cheese in crumb with a salad, and a chicken pate. Firstly, and according to my girlfriend the salad was drowned in vinaigrette and she didn't like the crumb on the cheese which she thought unnecessary. My starter wasn't particularly good either, the salad being soggy as mentioned above and the pate was served rather awkwardly in a small kilner style jar. There really was hardly any pate at all. There was actually more butter than pate so in truth I paid for two slices of under toasted bread and a tiny miniscule amount of pate. For the main course we both had the pulled pork and chilli with rice, jalapenos and nachos. The jalapeños were from a jar and not fresh which spoiled the meal. The pulled pork was served in a dish and was spilled down the sides. Service was abrupt. All in all it could have been a lot better! The Old Mill has seen so many owners, but it will take something better than what we got to return anytime in the near future.

Called in for an evening meal, the food was good, especially the steak pie. The service was a little slow but not a problem. On a personal note, I found the restaurant room a bit noisy even though only half occupied, it seems to echo. We will go in the bar next time as we have found that ok on past visits. Good value for money though.

We called in here when passing on a Sunday lunch time. We hadn't booked, but we managed to get a table. We both ordered sandwiches and a portion of chips. The sandwiches were delicious, with plenty of filling, served with a large side salad. The staff were very friendly, a great little find.

Country Pub and Dining. Serving fresh homemade food served daily. We also have kids outside play area.
We all went on a Sunday teatime ,6 of us, nice friendly host , nice pint of ale , now to the food, I ordered pate which was minuscule portion but tasted ok , followed by roast pork, deep fried roasties, bland veg, ok meat and gravy, my mum had lasagne which she left, tons of pasta and little bolognese sauce, 2 best meals were the rigatoniâs, but all in all a bit disappointing all round , coffee not hot enough either , no check back on any course .

Our setting is on the outskirts of our local village Alsager & there are some beautiful places to walk & most famously the 'Salt Line' which runs through farmland and woodlands from Hassall Green to Alsager, & follows the route of a disused railway line.
After a successful pie night visit went on a Friday with some friends to try the normal menu. I opted for the fish and chips, came with 2 pieces but oh dear they were frozen. What a pity as the chips were nice, the mushy peas good & theyâd gone to the trouble of making (or someone had) tartare sauce which was delicious. Others had beef burger which was dry & had no accompaniments. Slow cooked lamb lasagne which she said was a bit chewy and the pie which was delicious. A shame really perhaps theyâre a one trick pony type of place, if you like pie go for it, if not I wouldnât bother.

We visited on a Sunday lunchtime in early Feb. They only open until 6 on a Sunday and only serve food until 4. The restaurant part of the pub was packed which is always great to see. The food was really good, 2 of our party had fish and chips and 1 a burger. All were delicious: generous portions and super tasty. The service was great; very friendly, efficient and genuine. The only reason that we didnât give 5 stars is that there was a large table free next to us in the restaurant. This table was soon taken up by a large group who were only drinking and proved to be very loud with some choice language being used. Fully appreciate that if they had been eating that we would have had to put up with it. However, they werenât. That said, we had a very enjoyable lunch.
