After years of being closed the world famous DIRTY BOTTLES is open again as a freehouse providing innovating dining and drinking. Sample some slow cooked BBQ food from our imported American smoker, order your food or amazing cocktails from our Ipad orderi
A family meal for four was enjoyed at this rather different Smokehouse pub restaurant which adds to the dining experience. An iPad on each table allowed us to order drinks and food. Everyone enjoyed their respective meals which were rather generous portions so we all had to pass on both starters and a sweet. Staff are very pleasant and helpful (especially with the technology).

Very busy. Needed more staff. Had booked but waited 40 minutes for our food. Notice outside said no pets in restaurant. However table next to us had a dog which kept wandering around. It actually went under our table and out the other side. Had to ask owner to get it back. We admit we are not pet people but felt the staff should stand by their rules. I am allergic to pet hair and we wouldnât have ever let our kids be such a nuisance. We wonât be back.

We are a small family run pub in the town centre of Alnwick with great access to all local amenities.
We stay in Alnwick every year and the Blue Bell is top of the list of our goto places.Got a great welcome as we walked through the door and its always a reunion with old friends, within 30 seconds it felt like coming home. The staff here are fantastic and the atmosphere is always great. The Sunday lunch is one of the things we really look forward to when we visit and with a three week stay this year we made the most of them, well prepared and presented with generous portions. In fact the medium size lunch would be a large anywhere else. The Blue Bell is a family run business and VERY dog friendly, in fact the dogs usually dragged us in! Spent most evenings in here at some point for a few drinks and always welcome, the dogs were spoilt rotten by the staff and the locals.A great place to while away an evening having a few drinks and a chat and by the friendliest pub in Alnwick. Thanks to Sophie, Jackie and Fern for helping make our stay memorable.

An ancient and historic pub, where Robbie Burns once slept, offering a warm Northumbrian welcome and great local food - try our fabulously fresh fish and chips, or delicious beef sourced from a farm just down the road.Service with a smile and a relaxed an
Well, this place is a real find....the food served is absolutely brilliant Pub grub. The menu is not extensive but there are enough choices, I went for beef and blue cheese nachos. It arrived quickly, the plate was piled high and it tasted delicious. Everybody on the table reported their meals to be equally brilliant.Service was first class and prices are very competitive. The decor is not up to much, but go visit to sample the great service and food.

This could be a great little pub. Unfortunately, like so many in the region, they pander to the dreaded, 4 legged friend.I love dogs, but why oh why, do inconsiderate owners, insist on dragging them into EVERY restaurant and bar?My girlfriend was mauled by 2 dogs as a 4yo. This has left indelible scars, both physical and emotional...but she has to sit in our car, if we visit places like this.On top of this, they don't accept cards for drinks. The ONLY saving grace for this establishment, is the Brewer, who is rightly proud of his craft and his products.

Worth booking ahead- popped in on a Saturday as two couples and two dogs and was turned away.Popped back the following week (Thursday)and was rewarded with some beautiful Italian food. Great friendly staff too.The H&A has two large areas one of which is dog friendly. Would recommend.

Stayed here over the bank holiday weekend. Location is superb just off the market square and within walking distance of the castle and gardens and Barter books. The staff in particular the young man from America were all friendly and polite. The bar area is nice for a drink. They also have a restaurant or you can eat in the bar but we canât comment on the food as we didnât eat here. Now the room was ok it was just a bit grubby. Looked like it had had a coat of paint but not a good clean. Bathroom taps were dirty round the bottom and the skirting boards were very dusty. I dropped something on the floor and by the side of the beds was very dusty too. Towels were clean and were changed after 2 days. Beds and bedding wasnât touched in 3 days and again looked a bit grubby. We just thought that at £90 per night without breakfast we would have expected a better standard of cleanliness.

My wife and I had a really, really good dinner at the Red Lion this evening, sadly the last day of our holiday in Alnmouth. We both greatly enjoyed our food which was so delicious. My wife had a blue cheese, pear and walnut salad followed by a chicken dish whilst I started with a cream of vegetable soup, followed by lambs liver & bacon. My soup was thick and tasty - nothing like a tinned soup - and my liver & bacon was full of flavour. I had a generous side dish of mixed vegetables, not overcooked. My wife enjoyed both her dishes and I tried her chicken dish that I found totally scrummy. The service by a small team of young waitresses was excellent: they were busy but efficient, unflustered and good humoured. We were not left waiting for too long.Thank you to everybody at the Red Lion for a memorable evening, we really appreciate it.

We are staying near to this pub and had read some good reviews on . So glad we did! This was an absolutely lovely place for dinner. It has an extensive menu which we struggled to pick from as there were so many. Ended up having duck breast and crab. We plan to go back at least once. Great selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. Second visit here for Sunday lunch and every bit as good as the first. Potato skins to start, and lots of them ! Roast beef for main, superb again, the best beef ever. Loads of meat, in stark contrast to the place we ate at last Sunday ! Left both very full and highly satisfied, in stark contrast to the place we ate at last Sunday ! Very friendly, professional and efficient service, and owners who clearly make a real personal effort to ensure their customers are satisfied. Thanks again, and wonât be long before weâre back. Thank you so much for your brilliant review. We are so pleased you enjoyed your meal with us on Sunday. We love that you liked our friendly professional and efficient service along with our lovely food. We hope we can welcome you back soon. Thank you once again.
