This was a bright and welcoming restaurant, with friendly and efficient service and with very tasty food, cooked to order. A pleasant setting to relax in and to enjoy a tasty meal from a varied and extensive menu, and all at excellent prices.

Traditional Scottish Pub sometimes referred to as Stirling's hidden gem. Built in the early 1700 Nicky-Tams Bar & Bothy is steeped in history. The bar was once a bank and converted to a pub in 1718 by the Weavers Incorporation. Nicky-Tams is now a popular
We love Nicky Tams! Great historic bar with a friendly staff, comfortable seating and atmosphere aplenty. Didn't eat here, but the smells from the upstairs kitchen were heavenly, as I ventured to the lovely ladies room. The gents said he boys restroom was a quirky adventure.Always enjoy stopping into Nicky Tams. So will you!

Welcoming, friendly and attentive staff in ambient surroundings. On our most recent visit we were visiting with friends for Sunday Lunch (13.00) - disappointingly and strangely two (out of three|) main courses offered as daily specials were no longer available? The food we ordered was however tasty and well presented. Would still recommend this restaurant.
I went here recently with a friend for lunch. This was my first time so I was a bit thoughtful about the menu posibly not having anything on it I'd like. Oh how wrong I was! Excellent choice of dishes to cater for even the most fussy of us. I had lasagne and chips while my friend had the chicken, ham and leek pie with chips, and we couldn't resist the desserts. The staff member who served us was polite, cheery and helpful and the dining area we were in was neat, tidy and clean. I'd highly recommend it. A lovely place to eat.

Went back to the bobbing John for breakfast on Sunday after avoiding the place because of the poor quality of customer service and food last time we were there. Unfortunately different staff but same experience. Food order was totally wrong and my daughters roll wasn't ordered at all even after the male staff member informing us the were no potato scones at 1030am to go with said roll. Haggis which had been ask for was missed also and the place was a mess with tables covered in leftovers and plates. Not for the first time on Sunday one member of the team was heard apologising to customers for wrong orders and cold food. Place could be good if more staff wereemoyed and they were trained. Won't be back as nothing seems to change regardless of how many poor reviews there are left from customers or how many times you point out the faults to the staff.

Had a lovely meal last night at this excellent establishment. Pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and friendly efficient service. We were welcomed as soon as we entered by the bar staff and when we examined their food menu decided to have something to eat. The waitresses in the lounge were full of enthusiasm and entered into friendly banter with our party. Huge portions, well presented and delicious. Good value and a good range of beers. Deserts to die for including Apple Pie, Raspberry Cheesecake and chocolate Fudge Cake. Home made Steak Pie and Whale size Fish served with French fries and lovely salad. Although everyone was friendly we must single out Kodie and Charlie for exceptional service. If you can keep this standard up in future you will do well. We will certainly be back.
