This trip is an amazing way to get out in nature. The terrain was beautiful, the cowboys were fun and helpful, and the dinner and breakfast were delicious. I watched a beautiful sunset, the full moon rising, and the sun coming over the mountains while my coffee was being prepared in the morning. And there are s'mores around the campfire!!

My husband I and did a half day ride with Beth and her 2 very competent and friendly cowboys—Reyes and Canta (??). I am a regular rider, but my husband is not and we both had an equally great time and felt very safe the whole time. The horses were extremely sure footed on the rocky terrain and had such nice dispositions. You could also tell how well cared for the horses were, which we both really appreciated. I loved getting the vistas in the beautiful area and galloping along in the places where the footing allowed. A highlight of our trip for sure. I would highly recommend it to any level of rider.

We had an amazing walking (with one taxi) food tour with Diego! My husband and I love exploring the local food culture and he took us to some great local markets we never would have been able to navigate on our own. We tried tacos, meats, fruits and other treats. At the places he picked he knew the owners. Diego even brought his own plates and silverware for us. He is really knowledgeable about the history of the food culture of San Miguel De Allende. He also went with us to the local craft market. All in all a great day!

I am SO happy we booked this tour with Juan Carlos. I was a little wary at first because this experience didn’t have any reviews on TripAdvisor, but SO GLAD we took the chance! Juan Carlos was one of the best tour guides we’ve ever had. Very professional, communicative and knowledgeable — he made the experience stand out. We were picked up right at our hotel, and then took about an hour drive to Tepoztlan, a gorgeous magical town in the mountains by Mexico City. Upon arriving, we walked through the town until we reached the trail head. No for the faint of heart but wonderful exercise to climb to the top!! Unfortunately because of COVID the *very* top was closed, but we still got some incredible photos and views. Juan Carlos got us some paletas (popsicles) on the way down which gave me sustenance! We then got lunch at a local restaurant — absolutely delicious! I got the chicken verde enchiladas and tried a couple of local apps as well. Then Juan Carlos treated us to a delicious ice cream! I got cafe con leche and my partner got coconut — but the best flavor was Juan Carlos’s, so I recommend listening to him for the best fruit flavors. We also had time to stop by local artisans as well as the market in town. We got so many goodies to bring home — Oaxacan chocolate, a rams skull for our collection, incense and much more. There’s also an organic soap shop in town that I highly recommend. Don’t overthink it — BOOK this experience with Juan Carlos and be prepared for a magical time.

We were disappointed in this tour, inasmuch as many of the places that were on the itinerary -- two museums and the national theater -- were closed. And they've been closed for a long time due to Covid. Our tour guide said, "we'll need to cut the tour short"...we suggested we visit a winery on the way back, but this came from us not him. The guide himself was knowledgeable about the history of the location, which is why this isn't a 2-star, but the owner, Jesus, should either have not booked us on the tour at all or at least informed us that after a one-hour+ drive many of the destinations would be unavailable.

A great guide always contributes to a great tour experience, and this was the case here. Diego was charming, knowledgeable, fun and professional. He conveyed the essence of the art, history, geography and the soul of Guanajuato. This is precisely what we were looking forward to. Guanajuato is a special and charm filled experience not to be missed. It's so distinctly dissimilar to San Miguel de Allende and that was a fun surprise. Spend your money intelligently on good guides, this is a good one.
