Ponta Delgada (Portuguese pronunciation: [ˈpõtɐ ˌðɛɫˈɣaðɐ]) is the largest municipality (concelho) and administrative capital of the Autonomous Region of the Azores in Portugal. It is located on São Miguel Island, the largest and most populous in the archipelago. The population in 2011 was 68,809, in an area of 232.99 square kilometres (89.96 square miles). There are 17,629 residents in the three central civil parishes that comprise the historical city: São Pedro, São Sebastião, and São José. Ponta Delgada became the region's administrative capital under the revised constitution of 1976; the judiciary and Catholic see remained in the historical capital of Angra do Heroísmo while the Legislative Assembly of the Azores was established in Horta.

Words cannot express, how much we loved touring around Sao Miguel with Funtastic Azores. Both Paulo and Marco were amazing guides and did more than expected. I booked a last minute tour with Miguel for a private visit of the Island and it was just wonderful! He was very accommodating, lovely to talk to and willing to make the experience as nice as possible for the client. I had a few places in mind I really wanted to visit and he managed to find a way to take me to all of them. He is also very knowledgeable about the island and had a few anecdotes in his sleeves ;) I truly cannot recommend him enough and will definitely call him again whenever I come back to Ponta Delgada.

We had a great tour with our guide Daniel. He showed us some great places around the Azores island Sao Miguel and gave us a lot of useful information. He told us some fun and interesting facts about the island and really listened tot what we wanted to see and know. Couldn't wish for a better and more fun tour around the Sete Cidades! My wife and I had pre-booked this trip, and along with another couple, we were picked up at the cruise terminal. The weather was poor but was forecast to get better as the morning went on. Knowing this, our friendly, knowledgeable guide reversed his normal route, such that we visited the volcanic basalt rock formations at Ponta da Ferraria first - albeit in the pouring rain. From there it was a tour and stop for coffee at the village of Mosteiros. As the weather started to lift, we headed inland to the northern edge of the caldera above the Blue Lagoon, sitting just below the cloud level. From there it was down into Sete Cidades, and then back up the other side, by now in full sunshine. From there it was back to Ponta Delgada and abrief tour of the town. All-in-all the tour was excellent value, and we saw a lot more than others on the cruise ship who had taken the standard minibus tour.

My wife and me did a 4hour coastal fishing tour with Sergio and Natacha who run Seazores and we can highly recommend it. Both make you feel at home on their boat from the first minute and we spend 4 fantastic hours bottom fishing, chatting, drinking a couple of beers and getting excellent advice for things to do and restaurants. Needless to say we caught our dinner too. What makes them outstanding is the passion they have for their job and the Azores and their genuine friendliness.
