We stayed at Wakka for one night during our Shimanami Kaido Cycle. We booked a 4 bed dorm for 2 couples which it slept comfortably. We loved our stay here and I honestly don’t think I’ve ever felt so welcomed to any hotel. The staff here were so accommodating when we arrived from our cycle, absolutely soaking - hot tea and towels ready as well as the offer to give us warm coats. In the evening, we were driven to a local restaurant by the hotel owner and picked up afterwards. Furthermore, Wakka offered us support before we had even arrived, giving us great advice as to how to travel from Hiroshima via Bus. They also sent a quick text to check we were ion our way. During our cycle, a member of the group had a puncture and Wakka drove down to meet us to help fix the issue. A MUST STAY if you are travelling the Shimanami Kaido. I could continue to write gushing compliments and it still wouldn’t do this place justice.

With this tour, you will be able to experience Japan's most beautiful cycling road, the Shimanami Kaido Cycling road. The Shimanami Kaido is approximately 60 kilometers long toll road that connects the mainland of Japan and the Shikoku Island. On this road there are 6 islands in the Seto Inland Sea. With this 3 hour course you will be going to 2 of the 6 islands Therefore this is perfect for those who would like to try cycling Shimanami Kaido but not would like to ride too long. Along the way, you can enjoy the beautiful islands view and local shops as well. There will be an english speaking guide who will help you get your bicycle ready for your trip so there will be no stress on your part.
Inclusions: Use of bicycle, Helmet rental, Transportation fee during the tour such as ferry fee

We cancelled the tour in advance and have NEVER been refunded the payment, my advice to anybody is to avoid at all costs this tour
This value-packed trip with a nationally-licensed and experienced multilingual tour guide is a fantastic and efficient way to explore Onomichi! Onomichi is a gritty, old-timey seaport town with hills full of temples, literary sites and cats. Local businesses increasingly embrace its retro-chic charm, and a visit is a glimpse of a quaint Japan of yesteryear. For many travellers, Onomichi is the base from which to cycle the Shimanami Kaidō, the system of road bridges that allows people to island-hop their way across the Inland Sea to Shikoku. Let us know what you would like to experience and we will customize a six-hour tour that's best for you! Note*1: Please select your must-see spots from a list in the tour information to create your customized itinerary. Note*2: The Nationally-licensed Tour Guide-Interpreter certification is issued by the Japanese government requires a good knowledge and understanding of Japanese culture and history.
Inclusions: Free Photos, Hotel Pick up and Drop-off, Licensed Local Guide
Exclusions: Other personal expenses, Lunch - Lunch (for yourself and your guide), Entrance fee (for yourself), Private Vehicle, Transportation fee (for yourself and your guide)
The flexibility to chose locations that suited our wants and abilities was great. Hiro San was very quick to put together an itinerary that accommodated a family with a stroller-baby (no monkey park due to long unpacked walking paths). Taking in the beautiful temples and view of the Kyoto from the west was breath taking and the guide was able to explain many things we as new Japanese learners could not read or know through cultural knowledge. Overall a great experience, a wonderful and lively guide, and some great memories.

While we were sad to have to cancel our July trip to Japan due to the pandemic, we found the process of working with Japan Awaits to be easy and efficient. I can't speak to the full experience since we weren't able to go, but filling out the form and our communication with the company was no problem. And their prompt and courteous response to our request for a refund speaks to their professionalism. We will definitely come back to ask for their help in procuring tickets to the Studio Ghibli Museum when we do finally make it to Japan! Fingers crossed for next summer.

We will visit the secret must-see venues! A surprising world awaits for you at Ikuchishima・Setoda town floating in the Seto Inland Sea. Even the Japanese don't know about it. Ikuchishima, with a population of 10,000, is a peaceful country island with a unique, large temple. Within the precincts are the gorgeous main temple, a cave with a waterfall representing hell, and a huge Kannonzo. The best part is the white marble garden at the top of the mountain. You will definitely feel lost. If you enjoy interesting and rare places, this trip is for you. We will rent bikes, see the artwork and visit the beach. You won't get bored with all the activities such as shopping districts, food, and museums!
