Kalk Bay (Afrikaans: Kalkbaai) is a fishing village on the coast of False Bay, South Africa and is now a suburb of greater Cape Town. It lies between the ocean and sharply rising mountainous heights that are buttressed by crags of grey Table Mountain Sandstone. A literal translation from the Dutch/Afrikaans name "Kalkbaai" is "Lime Bay". This derives from the vast deposits of mussel shells found there, which early settlers burned to make lime for construction. Lime kilns to roast mussel shells are still found along the west coast. The railway from the central business district of Cape Town to Simon's Town passes through Kalk Bay and in some places the line is only metres from the water's edge.

On the 14 th of march we had the great pleasure of meeting up with Caley for a dsicovery of Capetian foods. Well, we discovered way more , we truly discovered how beautifull the local people of Capetown are. Caley was polite, well versed in the subject of food and general info about her beloved city, and had a great sense of humor. We had the most memorable day and just fell in love with the Mother city...

Ivan is brilliant. His local knowledge of the history of the region is invaluable because I assure you that this information is not available in a mainstream history book. Everything from the building architecture to the local flora and fauna of the region. This made the tour enjoyable and interesting. Thank you!

Me and my partner did the India Venster hike with Lynette guiding us and we had the most fantastic day! Lynette was very friendly as well as very knowledgeable of the area and guided us up the mountain as well as through the history of the area and it’s surroundings. We were able to go at our own pace and the hike was very enjoyable and rewarding with a huge sense of achievement when we had finished! You will not look at table mountain the same after doing the walk knowing you have conquered it and I would recommend this hike to absolutely everybody as my partner and I had the best day and loved every second of it! Experiencing the mountain and the nature from the route was surreal and it was a once in a lifetime hike where you will make some incredible memories and see some amazing views. Already looking to book the next one- so many different hikes to do!

There is so much beauty on the Cape Peninsula and any visit to Cape Town should include a day exploring the beautiful coastline. We are Cape Town locals with a love for the natural environment and we try to incorporate this element on our tours! Exclusions: We have the option to go to a restaurant or get food to-go and this can be discussed with the guide. Lunch, coffee, etc. is for your own account., - National Park gate fees at Boulders Beach & Cape of Good Hope
I did the Lion's head climb but was a little nervous to go up the chains and ladders and my guide was very accomodating, taking me an alternative path back down the mountain. My guide is a qualified game ranger with 30 plus years experience in the area plus has a background in geology, botany and zoology so I learned so much along the way - about the plants, rock formations etc. i will definitely use this company again and next time I will attempt the chains and ladders because on returning to the bottom I realised that even a lot of pensioners had managed it. I chose to hike with a guide because I did not want to do the climb alone and I am so glad that I did. It was definitely worth it. This company also offers many other hikes in and around Cape town.
