This time we have chosen to discover Palermo in a walking tour. That was our first time in Palermo and our guide, knowing this detail, made a point in explaining and making us discover the main landmarks of this beautiful Sicilian city. After that he suggested a wonderful local restaurant where we had lunch and it was indeed very good food reasonably priced and the restaurant was full of local people, which is, when you don't know a city, the best token for good quality. After lunch our guide walked us back to our cruise. Thank you very much Tour Travel for this great experience
If you are staying in Milan you cannot miss a tour at the nearby city of Bergamo. Bergamo is an elegant medieval town divided in two parts, Upper Bergamo and Lower Bergamo. Your tour will concentrate on Upper Bergamo, which you will reach thanks to a cable train called in Italian Funicolare, with the help and company of your local guide. Bergamo is a traditional medieval town surrounded by defensive walls and with buildings built in medieval architecture. Spend some time in Piazza Vecchia and then go up the Campanone, the bell tower where you can admire at an amazing view of the whole city from atop. Next you will visit the Baroque church of Santa Maria Maggiore, the Antico Lavatoio and the Cittadella Viscontea. The last stop will be a delicious one. Stop by an antique Gelateria and taste some Gelato. Italy’s favourite flavour is Stracciatella, a milk-based ice cream with chocolate shavings. Guess where it was invented? Right here in Bergamo!
