Restaurante O Cordeirinho: you would easily drive past it without really noticing it and when you enter inside(you can only eat inside, terrace is only for drinks and fastfood) youâd almost think that you arrived at some kind of ski hut; but when you taste the food youâll be truly happy that you decided to eat here. Amazing, we were blown away by the flavours. We had both the gambas as well as the squid and were seriously impressed with its taste. If it were possible to share flavours on instagram, and you got a taste, you would already be on your way day by now! Seriously, this one should definitely be on your âmust-visitâ list when visiting Sao Miguel!

Restaurante TN, the emblematic restaurant of Terra Nostra Garden Hotel, located in Terra Nostra Garden with unique surroundings in Furnas Valley, is a real Azorean pleasure. Let yourself be guided by the hands of our Chef Vitor Veloso and its extraordinar
Our VERY GOOD experience would have been an EXCELLENT experience if the restaurant staff had taken care of the little details. Fortunately for us, my pre-trip research and direct approach paid off. FOOD: After reading more than 100 reviews of the various restaurants in Furnas that serve cozido, I decided to reserve a lunch table several weeks in advance. Terra Nostra Garden offers traditional cozido, vegetarian cozido with couscous and non-cozido options such as steak and seafood. I pre-ordered 1 cozido meal and specified that my dining partner would be ordering from the à la carte menu. In this way, we would both be able to taste cozido while enjoying other dishes. After all, when we go to other restaurants, we donât all order the same items. Itâs more fun to share.COZIDO: It was delicious! The meat was smoky and tender (beef brisket, chicken, blood sausage, chorizo and pork trotter). The vegetables were scrumptious (collard greens, cabbage, sweet potato, potato, taro and carrot). The accompanying broth was flavourful. I could have drank a cup of it! After finishing my plate, I asked for seconds of the vegetables and the pork trotter. According to the fine print on the menu, customers can ask for additional servings of cozido. Other restaurants bring a mountain of food that becomes less appetizing as it cools down. So much is wasted. A LA CARTE: My dining partner chose fish soup and the forkbeard fish fillets. The soup was dark and deeply aromatic - better than the bouillabaisse I had in Marseille.FREE TICKETS to the botanical garden and thermal pools: According to the fine print on the menu, ordering a minimum of 30⬠entitles each diner to a free ticket. Our bill came to 64⬠for the 2 of us. When the manager swiped my credit card, he did not mention the tickets but I overheard him telling another table about it. He even brought some tickets to their table. As we got up to leave, I asked him about the tickets and he pointed me to the front desk. Preferential treatment? BOTANICAL GARDEN AND THERMAL POOLS: Using the free tickets, we were able to save 8⬠per person and skip the queue for entrance to the garden and pools. The garden is so beautiful! I only wish there were some lockers or more benches to put oneâs belongings. I can imagine how pleasant it must be to stay in the hotel and stroll to the thermal pool in the early morning.

Take a drive to Achadinha to walk the scenic, circular hike on PR21SMI to Poco Azul. It's a steep trail, so when you finish, you'll be hungry... and this snack bar is the perfect spot for lunch. Simple, small, and casual with a wonderful little buffet - and at a great price! The power went out for several minutes during lunch (it soon came back), but this just added to the charm and experience. Loved it!

There are not many restaurants in Nordeste. We went to Esplanada against the information bureau's advice and it was a good surprise. Although it looks like it is closed, they have very good food an a good view over the bridge. The service is good.

Good though simple food. The buffet is ever simpler. On the menu, you have really good things, especially the beef and grilled fish. But what a view ! The tables outside are exceptional. Some of the waiters are a bit rough but others are really kind.

Coffee and beer garden, located inside the Natural Park of Ribeira dos Caldeirões. You can enjoy a light meal with traditional flavors.
Lovely stop after visiting the park and nearby Nordeste Souvenirs we stopped at Cafe Esplanada for some Kima soft-drink and pastry.. The service is slow but the scenery all around is beautiful. Lots of walking so a little pick me up refreshment feels good in such circumstances. Ice cream is available as well.

O Forno... situado no pulmão dos Açores
This small restaurant is in the heart of Nordeste, near the church. There is ample parking nearby. The staff is friendly. The prices are right, inexpensive. We dined on the patio. Their house wine proved to be very good, local. We had chicken, cod, rice, corn, French fries and salad. Cappuccino was good quality and came with a heaping mountain of whipped cream. Our friends had a cake for dessert and praised the taste and texture. The food is simple here but I would highly recommend this place as a great option for decent inexpensive dining.

Casa de Pasto Cardoso is a restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere and involved in a northeastern landscape, situated in the parish of Lomba da Fazenda, County of Nordeste, with a traditional cuisine. Specialties: Bife Steak; beef stew; Roasted lamb; Codfis
Staying just down the road and popped in twice this week. Currently they aren't open Saturday lunch but open all other days. Lunch was lovely on both occasions. Today I had grilled chicken, 4 big pieces of chicken chips and rice for 7euro. My partner had the set menu for 8euro which included a glass of wine, soup, bread, main and pudding. The puddings are amazing! The Oreo one and what ever we had today priced at 1.50 each.Highly recommend, English speaking staff.
