As a local resident this is an ancient place of sanctuary and historical significance. Like many preserved megalithic spots here, it is not a national tourist destination, and should be respected as such. Use an ordnance survey map rather than Google, looking at a proper map will help you see the significance of the area. Don't expect a red carpet for parking - the lane and jubilee pillars should be kept clear for the farmer and emergency services due to access restrictions on the steep bend. If you want to visit this place then it is advisable to park by the library and walk up via the fisheries. This area is full of wildlife and you must remember to pick up your litter. The ground gets boggy in places. If you're a keen hiker then this is an easy walk. If you have dodgy knees and expect signs and paths then stick to the beach. Remember that the weather closes in rapidly between the mountains and the sea so be prepared for wind and rain. Although some days you can be blessed with complete calm and sunshine with a panoramic views. Remember Wales is not a theme park and leave it as you found it.

We were lucky enough to have Dinorwig Slate Quarry nearly right on our doorstep when we stayed at Blue Peris for a weeks holiday in September, and there are so many paths to follow , interesting sights to see, and amazing 360* views! Highly recommend a visit 5 Star *+*+*+*+*

First Hydro Company, the owner of the Electric Mountain Visitor Centre, has outlined its plans to refurbish the Centre in Llanberis. The aim of the new building is to deliver an engaging and attractive visitor experience, providing user-friendly resources that will appeal to tourist and education visitors alike. There will also be much-improved facilities for the community to use. Drawing on ENGIE’s regeneration capabilities, the new building will be sustainably designed, energy efficient and in keeping with the local environment and landscape. To facilitate the main demolition and refurbishment works going forward, the Electric Mountain Visitor Centre will be operating from temporary accommodation located in the Car Park effective 1 April 2019 until 30 September 2019.
I was a youngster when this place was under construction holidaying in the family caravan nearby. The day's would be interrupted with the dull booms of the heart of the mountain being slowly ripped out to make the caverns for the turbines. It took me over 40 years to go and visit and what a fool I've been. This place is fantastic especially if you have an interest in engineering or a film buff. In the main turbine hall, look to the roof and you see the drainage channel designed by the one and only Carol Voorderman of Countdown fame Step outside into many of the service roads and think about those action movies you have watched like James Bond, Tomb Raider, Harry Potter to mention a few, all fimed here. Five star attraction not to be missed.

Advance booking required. A World Heritage Site, Beaumaris Castle has a perfect concentric design, is surrounded by a water moat, and has stunning views over the Menai straits and Snowdonia mountain range. The displayed opening times are our general pattern. Please check the Cadw website for specific times and days, including closures.
we visited at the bank holiday Sunday they had a bouncy castle in the grounds and all families where roaming round letting the kids run free and where all safe . There is a moat around castle the kids loved , great day out and well worth a visit as close to the shops and cafes something for both adults and kids

Conwy town walls are one of the few medieval examples in Britain that are almost complete. The fact that you can walk almost the whole length (free!) Makes them all but irresistible. The only daunting aspects are the uneven surfaces (well, wouldn't you expect that after well over 700 years?), some heights that may make some people nervous and a few steep climbs that do tax this septuagenarian. All can be overcome with a little care and it is certainly worth it. From the views up and down the Conwy estuary from the lowest point of the wall jutting into the river, to the spectacular vista of the town from the highest point of the wall every step offers a new perspective. Even better, you are never far from a good place for a rest and refreshment whenever the need arises at any of the 6 access points to the wall. Keep an eye on the kids and imagine yourself as a member of the English garrison charged with keeping the Welsh out of the town once the curfew bell had sounded. It offers an opening into the fascinating history of the area.

My partner and I did not plan to visit this Mill but it was on the 34 mile cycle route that we had planned for the day. We had cycled about 30 miles, we had run out of food and drink and the night was quickly drawing in. We were feeling exhausted and a little desperate! At just before 6pm, we came across the Mill and asked the owners if they were still serving tea and cakes. They said that they had finished some time before, but they took pity at the sight of us and very kindly opened back up so we could have some much needed refreshments. The coffee and cake was delicious and we were so grateful to all the staff for making us so welcome in our hour of need. We cycled off and finished our ride with a new spring in our step. We look forward to visiting again in happier circumstances, as it looked an amazing place to explore :)

Hubby wanted to walk across the aqueduct whilst in the area, parked at cafe near police station - aqueduct is literally around the corner. Not that long if you only do that part, although we did attempt to walk through the tunnel but got scared as so dark so wimped out and went back. Lovely to see and chat to the people on the walk and narrow boats.

Lovely little walk to the rear of the Royal Victoria Hotel, nice views when you get to the top of tower.
