This "apseo" is a great place to walk and enjoy the more turistic part of the city. You can see some sculptures allusive to the native Tayrona Tribe and take good pictures. The real magic of this place are the sunsets, you can literally see the sun go down and set on the horizon but while your doing this you will see the sky change colors and the water mimic it. Tootally worth it!

From having spent time in Cartagena and Santa Marta, I would have to say that I much prefer Santa Marta. Cartagena has superior architecture, very nice restaurants and better museums; which are great to experience for a weekend. Cartagena's Centro Historico is very scenic, with walks along the harbor and beaches, a huge variety of restaurants, and many more casual options that aren't overrun with tourists. It has a nice relaxed vibe and you can for sure find any type of food or style that you are looking for. Meals and especially drinks are very inexpensive.

It is like a plaza with a monument to the founder of the city. The statue is on the seafront and has a really nice view. It is a must if your going to Santa Marta, you may want to take a few pics and watch the sunset.
