The Neo-Dravidian-style Vidhana Soudha is the seat of the state legislature while the red Attara Kacheri houses the High Court. In 2005, an annex called the Vikas Soudha was inaugurated, designed as an exact replica of the Vidhana Soudha. Though these buildings cannot be visited, they can be viewed from the outside.
The more imposing building - Vidhana Soudha, which houses the Legislative Assembly of the state of Karnataka was built post-independence and is a beautiful building on this broad boulevard. Across from it is the Attara Kacheri, the High Court of the state, which is a beautiful long red building and is a much older building. It was built in 1868.

Temple was another architecture wonder at its own level. Ofcourse you can't compare it with Belur or halebeedu. The priest comes to the temple after seeing visitors for doing pooja as he stays in opposite house. Overall had very nice dharshan of the lord. Parking will be a problem on crowded days.

If you visit Sirsi, you cannot afford to miss this old temple dating back to 1688. Durga in the form of Doddamma. She has 8 shoulders. They used to sacrifice a buffalo here till Mahatma Gandhi led a movement against it. The bi annual Jatra is attended by phenomenal crowds. The outside facade is new and reminds one of the Goan temples. But inside is still the old construction. You can tickets for the puja before you go inside. It is crowded inside. Outside there is a smaller temple where once you pray you are not supposed to look back.

This is a lovely Tibetan Monastery close to Mysuru or Coorg in Bylakuppe. There are monks praying in here so be prepared to observe in silence without disturbing them. There are lovely paintings on the walls and ceilings besides the huge statues of the Buddha and it's different avatars that are worth seeing here. The Tibetan refugees have been given this place to settle down by the Indian government ever since they fled their home country. It is a very peaceful atmosphere even with all the beating of drums and playing of traditional horns by the monks chanting their devotional hymns. A must visit place for sure if you are in the vicinity.

Easy hike with multiple Jain temples. Lot of history. Last place of chandraguta maurya. Make sure to go to the cave besides the temple complex and meditate for 2-3 minutes. Feels good. You need to climb the hill without shoes - hence carry socks to save u from blisters!

In dilemma if we should skip as we had to enter the Bandipur forest due to time restriction. But we would have missed it as the view from the temple is simply awesome. one can approach by own transport until the hill entry gate where parking facility is provided. Its a no-plastic zone strictly. From there tickets for the transport by state government bus up the hill to the temple should be purchased. Continuosly buses ply back and forth to this checkpoint (which has a time restriction too!) Had visited in the noon. Thought it might be very warm but to our surprise the temple and surrounding area is cool and very breezy. Thourougly enjoyed the landscapes. A must visit for nature lovers but plan your visit accordingly due to the time restrictions in the forest area
