This lively street connects the Old Venetian Harbour and the Square of Lions and has a great choice of bars, cafes, restaurants and shops selling a very good selection of food, gifts and souvenirs. It is full of charachter and lively and we really enjoyed the experience. We also received a lovely welcome at the KipKop Cafe on the Square of Lions where we thorougly enjoyed the snacks and coffees etc.

We visited this intriguing building in October when it housed a wonderful exhibition of modern Christian mosaic art. There is very little remaining of the interior of the building but being Venetian it must have been very grand at one time! Excavations around the monastery are still continuing so I shall be looking in, on a future visit, to see how/whether these are progressing. I have submitted its location to Google Maps under the name Monastery of St Peter and St Paul, as listed in the Heraklion.gr website so, hopefully, it will be more 'on the radar' when they've added it to the map.
