Rebel Gallery in Hastings is an independent art gallery exhibiting the work of artist and photographer Jon Wilhelm and imaganist Suzanne Wilhelm. Founded in 2004 as an exhibition space for Jon 'Huldrick' Wilhelm's successful range of watercolours and limited edition prints of Hastings and the South of England. After the old town, the Rock-a-Nore area is my favourite part of Hastings. Rock-a-Nore is situated at the far east of Hastings seafront and stretches from the Old Town along Rock-a-Nore Road (between the cliffs and The Stade: the working beach where the fishing boats are parked) and includes the Blue Reef Aquarium, Fishermen's Museum, Shipwreck Museum, Hastings Miniature Railway and the East Hill Cliff Railway. At the eastern most area is a huge car park, a nice pebble beach and the Hastings Motor Boat And Yacht Club. What I like most about Rock-a-Nore beach is that is away from the town centre, from the busyness of Pelham beach, and has a black drop of cliffs topped by Hastings Country Park, the Rock-a-Nore beach is separated from The Stade by a huge groyne built in 1887.

A little train running along the seafront at the eastern end of Hastings. Perfect for children of any age. A reminder of a simpler past.
