What can I say? Superb quality, fair prices, friendly service, excellent range of pre-prepared meats and small goods. Their smoked bacon is legendary. We travel a fair way to shop, but worth it. Kim W, Gippsland

On the way to Toorongo falls, we took a very small diversion and was pleasantly surprised with this antique looking bridge. A small climb takes you to the top of the bridge which then loops you back to the car park. A good rest, good photo shoot place and good for some picnicking. Did not get enough mobile signal, hence ensure you have offline maps enabled.

This is a beautiful gallery with stunning illustrations of banksias. Take the time to savor each art work as they are so detailed and balanced. If you are lucky you might have the privilege of the artist herself showing round and providing a fascinating background to each painting. A perfect place to escape the showers.

Destination Ada is worth the long drive from inner suburbia or a sidetrip on your way elsewhere. The main Ada tree carpark has pit Toilets and covered areas with tables and benches (not sure about Bbq). Camping grounds at Starling Gap about 10 kms away. Well signposted walking trails leading to & off beyond Ada. Beware of leeches! Walking trails are pretty damp up here with fallen trees & branches, obscured by leaves, roots & strips of stringybark. Forget your Gps as mine did not work. Best to have offline or country Vic roadmap. Long unsealed road - only wide enough to allow one 4WD comfortably. There is road signage but you might miss it! The 3 km return walk from carpark to the famed tree passes through very dense canopy of trees and ferns covered in moss and fungi - makes it a very cold & damp place any time of the year. This is a dark but enchanting forest leading you to the magic Faraway tree Ada! The microclimate of this forest is home to some unique fungi and fauna - there were enthusiasts wielding torches (yup - pretty dark!). Some parts of the trail has boardwalk but not continuous - be prepared to descent on unsealed track, wet in parts, over flowing creek & trip hazard roots on your way to Ada. So definitely not for pram pushers or wheelchairs but easy enough to navigate for a moderately fit person. Weekend had quite a lot of visitors. 400 yr old Auntie Ada is majestic & she reaches for the sky like jack's beanstalk. The base is really massive - encircled by broad platform to walk around & take pics. Worth spending a few hours.

The best view of Walhalla, you must do it. If you don't want to climb the steps, just park at the Long Tunnel Extended Mine (where the tours are) and walk onto it from there - it's flat, and that way you don't need to do the steps at all. Having said that, I have bad knees but I walked the steps near the rotunda at 6am to watch the new day dawn over Walhalla....there was no sunset due to the fog but it was just magical as there was no-one up yet, just the birds! We walked up near the rotunda, walked along to the viewpoint above where the museum/post office is and you can walk down those steps. Bring your camera! (or phone!)

From Melbourne to Loch Sport, to Paynesville, Raymond Island. We refilled petrol at the United Servo and asked the lady where we can go for fishing ... Silt Jetty was her answer! Sure enough my hubby and brother-in-law enjoyed it. This jetty is unique and it’s my first time to see it and sure enough I turned green with envy to the owners if the houses along the jetty ... wow. We’re definitely coming back!

Next to new about 1km long with ample rod holders some great easy to use fish cleaning tables and even some little cosy cubbys for fishing out of. A+ Jetty

This is a short 5Km walk and takes the average person around 2 hours to do the circuit. Be aware of soft sand - it can be a bit taxing if you haven't walked for a while. Walk with the wind (if easterly then do the beach first, if blowing a westerly do the bush track first). If you love the birds, you might hear/see 20 different species along the walk. Be aware there could be the odd snake out (even in winter), but they tend to be more scared of you. I might be lucky enough to see one once a year. Blue tongue lizards are a lot more common. Don't forget to bring your binoculars too. There are normally up to 40 seals to be seen (very hard to spot when in amongst the rocks on the other side of the entrance).

Really enjoyed walking along near the caves and checking them out, Inverloch has so much to do and this is definitely a must, close to Eagles Nest.
