Historic mansion, set in a public park - open on selected days throughout the year. The House dates back to the 15th century and was once home to the Dukes of Hamilton. It was transformed into a stately home in the 1660s.

A great place to visit Magnificent engineering which is both scientifically fascinating and aesthetically pleasing Worth taking the boat trip to experience the full fascination

I had not seen this site before when I came across it driving through Grangemouth . Set on an plinth is a full size replica of a spitfire , there is a comprehensive history of the airfield that was nearby during the 2nd World War There is also a list of pilots killed who flew from this area and also the Polish and other nations pilots who gave their lives . It is a well maintained site and is interesting from a historical perspective of the area

The walk through the tunnel is very interesting. There is a free car park nearby. It can be damp so recommend you take a waterproof jacket. There is lighting. Beware of cyclists. If a barge is travelling through the tunnel, even more interesting. At the Edinburgh end of the tunnel, keep walking to the laughing and greeting bridge.
