This is a peaceful and moving tribute to the victims of the Lockerbie crash and well worth visiting for some contemplation

Originally travelled to here because of the schoolhouse and old kirk being in The Wicker Man film but it is so much more special than that. Very atmospheric and peaceful in a beautiful setting

Ae, Scotland’s shortest village name is only 20 minutes from the M74 motorway in Dumfries and Galloway... But ride its trails and you’ll think you’re in another world. With a superb variety of green, blue and red graded trails, an extreme rated downhill section, skills area plus a bike shop and great cafe you could not want for more at Ae.

We don't serve soup. Or seafood platter.
A charming and quirky bookshop which extends into every conceivable book and cranny of the ground floor and staircase of its Wigtown home. There is a wide range of topics and some real gems in terms of rarity and quality. We were allowed to take our dog in even though there seems to be a resident cat, so hats off to the staff for accommodating us.
