The name "Chattanooga" comes from the Creek Indian word for "rock coming to a point." This refers to Lookout Mountain, one of the city's major attractions. Here visitors can explore extraordinary rock formations, see a roaring enclosed waterfall and travel by train to the top of the mountain for truly awesome vistas. Back down on the ground, don't miss the world's largest freshwater aquarium, the Tennessee Aquarium. History enthusiasts will love the city's museums dedicated to Civil War, Native American and 20th-century history. More than anything, Chattanooga is a scenic city, full of natural wonders waiting to be explored by foot, car, bike or train.

If you have a sweet tooth for Moon Pies this is the place for you. They were all sold out of chocolate Moon Pies so we bought another flavor. The soda fountain as you enter is truly a bit of nostalgia . The company was honoring the moon flight of 1969 so there was an abundance of items commemorating the event. The staff was very welcoming . Worth a visit.

It’s a great area to take a little break and let the kids play in the water and pay homage to the Cherokee’s that taken from their land.

Welcome to Sculpture Fields at Montague Park! Officially opened in 2016, this 33 acre public park populated with sculptures from all over the world. Located on Chattanooga’s Southside, it is also the largest sculpture park in the Southeast and beckons visitors from near and far. The park is open from Dawn to Dusk seven days a week, except for special events and holidays. At any given time, you may witness the awe-inspiring installation of a larger-than-life sculpture, hear schoolchildren as they play and work amongst the sculptures, see artists demonstrating their craft, families picnicking, kites flying, music playing, dancing and even yoga classes. Mission: To create and maintain a sculpture park in Chattanooga, Tennessee, of the highest quality, international scope and of lasting value and benefit to the City and the region. To establish programming, benefitting the local, regional arts establishment as well as the education community at all levels and the citizenry at large.
This place has really come a LOOOOONG way since it opened! The best outdoor friendly dog park and one of the very few sculpture parks my wife and I have visited that is close to the urban center of the city. The quality of the artwork and the open spaces make this a great respite in the City. Stroll among the art work, sit on one of the benches and yes - there is a bathroom! In this Covid environment, this is one of the few places in Chattanooga you can enjoy without a mask!
