Cella Vinaria Antiqua is a secular Wine Cellar & Museum, restored and converted into a workshop for produce, preserve and disseminate the millenarian technique of producing wine in clay amphoras. A singular space that tells a story with thousands of years and that brings together the best of the history, the culture, and the tradition of Alentejo.
Wonderful experience at Cella Vinaria Antiqua/Honrado. Ruben was great - he was kind enough to do a special program for my elementary-age son & me (kids "wine" making + lunch). Incredible, historic space (the wine cellar). Truly, one of our best experiences in Portugal - very memorable. This place is "off the beaten path" and a "hidden gem", as they say. If you are looking for a unique & memorable experience - you MUST check out Cella Vinaria Antiqua!

The Mill represents the maximum exponent of technology at the service of olive oil quality and environmental sustainability.
We emailed the mill inquiring about a tour for the next day. Soon after we receive a quick and warm response from Miriam giving us a time to meet. Myself, my girlfriend and 6month old baby arrive at the mill to be greeted by Miriam, a very enthusiastic young woman who was very passionate about the brand and the mill. Miriam gave us a detailed overview of the process as we toured through the mill. She encouraged questions and at no point we're we bored as it was easy to feel that Miriam loved her job. It was finished off by a lovely tasting and at no point was Miriam pushing us to buy anything. She didn't have to as the olive oil sold itself :) we're still enjoying the purchases we made. Thanks again Miriam for a personal experience and if we're ever in the region again, we'll come say hello!
