We sat in side street round corner from restaurant. The staff were super attentive, keen you enjoyed everything, from the wine, pizza & desert, explaining ingredients and origins. Pizza was just delicious. I wasn't very hungry but enjoyed the local sausage, onion, peppers and cheese pizza, which was very light in base and cooked to perfection. One waiter in particular really made our evening with all his top tips on the food to ensure we enjoyed our time there.

Hidden pizzeria, away from the tourists. ..and that's a good thing. I'm surprised it is surviving in Mantova, knowing how stuck up its people are, but it is worth a visit. The place is tiny, one room. It gets busy quickly and you could end up eating beside the door. If you don't like the idea, reserve a table. The room hasn't been decorated for a 1000 years, but personally I don't care... it's just appearance. If you want a modern place, freshly decorated, don't come here. The pizza is good and cheap. My husband had 2!!! I stopped at 1, but I was very happy with it. The staff was ok, they did their job. Amazing prices. Surely going back next time I'm in mantova. Thank you.

Cute locanda on the main road, with plenty of parking spaces around it. The main room is very beautiful, the entrance so so. The pizza was fantastic. We had volo, Norma, and vegetariana. All 'tirate' ( made thinner and crispier, +2 euros). The service is very slow and the staff so so... The lady who welcomed us made a horribly offensive joke when we walked in (one of us was a frequent customer so she played around that, I guess, but the other people just were shocked...). Anyway, dessert was great and good choice of beer. 54 euros for 3 people, surely worth it.

I visit Mantova very often to spend time with my family, but only recently I've discovered la colonna. Unfortunately!!! I was in Mantova for 2 weeks and I came here 3 times. The pizza is amazing. I just love it. Thin, fluffy crust, crunchy, and loaded. I had pizza with octopus and sardines and it was amazing. I had risotto with shellfish and it was perfect to me: risotto is not easy to cook, so well done. Fish tasty and fresh. The only problem is that the portions are MASSIVE so I couldn't finish it. What a waste. My husband had 'la mangio tutta' once, a pizza for 2/3 people but he had it himself. Stuffed crust to die for and lashes of cheese. Desserts are lovely, mostly made by a couple of very famous pasticcerie in Mantova. Highly recommend the lemon one!!! The last time I was there for lunch with the whole family. Lunch is very busy, I guess because the prices are unbelievable considering what you get. Luckily we booked a table. There's a massive buffet with an amazing choice of food. Oh, the melanzane alla parmigiana... Just like grandma used to make!!! I had quite a lot of it... And the potato gratin and the veggie lasagne. I want to marry the chef! We had different things... I had a pizza (to be honest I was given the wrong one, but I ate it anyway... Lovely), my little daughter had a baby pizza (still pretty big, but you can take the leftovers home), my husband gnocchi with cheese, my dad spaghetti allo scoglio, my mum fritto misto. Every menu of choice includes the buffet, drinks (water and wine) and coffee, ranging from 10 to 14 euros. We paid 54 euros in 5. Everything was tasty and copious, only my mum had problems with the fish: she said it wasn't properly cooked and she felt unwell all day. I didn't try the fish so I cannot prove her right or wrong. I think she should have sent it back immediately instead of eating it all. I can only suggest to tell the staff immediately if there are any problems, because they are all very friendly and helpful. The place gets packed quickly and can get noisy. Big car park. I'll surely be back.Thank you

The real gourmet pizza made with high quality ingredients. Special tastes: every week we suggest a different combination of tastes. Pizza Take Away in Mantua: a streetgourmet Pizza.
I had pizza from Crosta for takeaway on locals' advice. The dough was surprisingly good - crunchy at the bottom but soft, and light. The toppings were also tasty. I had some of the pizza with tuna and mushrooms, and some with prosciutto cotto. Everyone in my party was happy with the pizzas. I will be back when I am in town.

We stopped here because we are staying in Virgilio for the weekend.Peaceful place ( friday night), neat and clean, very gentle and fast service. We ordered a lukewarm octopus salad with potatoes, simply delicious, and 2 pizzas: mine with porcini mushrooms and apples...a great ingredients match! IN ADDITION TO THIS WE DID NOT FEEL "FULL" AS USUAL ( WHEN EATING PIZZA).The service was fast and gentle. The menu is very interesting and varied. If you can stop here for a nice gastronomy experience! The only point I could not rate positive is the lack of parking but not being local, maybe we don't know there is one nearby.Grazie

Prezzi onesti.
