Great restaurant set in a quaint village we came across on the way back to pienza from saturnia. The manager and chef were very friendly, good honest people, the house wine was delicious, the tiramisu and pannacotta to die for and just 3 euros! The mushroom and ham pizza was so good we had to order another one! Definitely no tourist trap!Thank you so much for your review. We chose for our costumers a short menu in order to provide an high food's quality.

It is a simple restaurant but with real Italian food. If you chose pasta they will serve it " al dente" if you want a bit more cooked you should ask for it. The house wine is good and cheap. Good relation price / quality.

La Grotta is the nearest restaurant and pizzeria to our holiday home near Roccalbegna, so we do visit it often. We went three times this trip in both May and June. We always have a pizza and they are always great. When we first started going, ten years ago, it was never busy, now it is wise to book. This is, for us, a good sign, as it means the Roccalbegna area is thriving now with both locals visiting and tourists. La Grotta is not just a pizzeria but a trattoria too and Lucia is a fine chef and has transformed the place. If you go please leave room for her wonderful desserts too. See you again soon Lucia e grazie mille. Denzil grazieeee!!! Tra quello che non c'era e quello che doveva esserci (funghi) ci siamo salvati, con un antipasto abbondante e gustoso, il resto mediocre. Lasciato la mancia alla cameriera, perché eroicamente ci metteva la faccia. Conto normale, ubicazione decente.

Al centro di Scansano, locale essenziale dove la pizza é buona sia nell'impasto che nel condimento. Molto leggera come leggero é stato il conto. 20 persone ( si é bevuto!) 200 euro. Ok

sweetheart and i stopped by for a beer as the sun was setting. bartender super sweet and suggested we move outside. vacated a table he had been sitting at. we then enjoyed pizza (we let him choose), and had a fabulous very thin pizza with bacon and sliced fresh tomato. super fabulous. as the evening wore on local kids between 16-25 (including a few men around 50) stopped be and sat on the steps smoking cigarettes and drinking beer. The music was varied from 80's 90's rock and pop to contemporary rap. eclectic music, good beer and laughter.

Visited twice, sat outside once and inside once. Menus a long time coming. No translation and staff have no English so expect to work it out! Sat outside, although its on a main road, good efforts have been made to make the area welcoming. Lovely lovely food, beautifully cooked. Pizzas and pasta both great. Starter Crostini breads amazing. As was the bresola carpaccio. a really lovely place to eat.

This restaurant is within walking distance from our vacation house so I have eaten there many times. The atmosphere is homey and although it may not strike you as anything special, it is certainly pleasant and relaxing to eat here. The food is good and the prices are low, I have never been disappointed. I would advise this place if you want a cheap but tasty homemade meal that won't blow you away but will also not disappoint.-- Italiano --Cucina casareccia, ambiente accogliente. Questo ristorante non ha nulla di particolarmente speciale ma il cibo è buono e non delude. I prezzi sono onestissimi e il personale gentile. Lo consiglio a chi vuole un pasto rilassante ed economico, senza cercare l'eccellenza. Ci sono stata varie volte e continuo ad andarci quando sono in zona.

Vengo spesso in questo locale... La mattina ottima colazione con paste buonissime...oltre al fatto che sono esigente trovano sempre il modo di accontentarmi (latte senza lattosio...latte di soia)..... Per non parlare dell'ottima pizza leggera e croccante come piace a me. Ottima la professionalità e la cordialità .
